I think I may have a better explanation of the word [ Poindexter ].
Probably misspelled as names often are ( take a close look at my User Name ) .
But a combination of the two words poignant, meaning keenï»¿ or strong in mental appeal
and
dexter, meaning on the right side
seems to make sense.
His very intelligent right hand man.
