re “elected president of the USA” – I don’t think democracy applies to the USA any more. It’s a sham. It’s a circus – entertainment designed to give the impression that the people can make a choice. But the presidential actions are governed by big money players. The lobby system decides on the government’s actions.
The USA is less of a democracy than Russia. At least Russia is fighting the influence of big money players. The USA has completely lost that fight. In the USA, the government is part of the market.

but you can not count rammstein as such a band because they see them selfs as pun-kband, and make such innuendos not very often.
basically, bands use style and drama to entertain. I think the fascist and nazi styles are the new scary monster styles. It used to be gothic demons and other occult monsters, now its totallitarian design.
It’s not really much different from style and drama in the movies. Laibach are on the more thought provoking end of the spectrum. Rammstein are on the more out and out drama and fun end of the spectrum.
somehow, when it comes to style and drama, people get anxious palpitations about bands where movies are given a free ride. The whole thing about Laibach and Rammstein being nazis or neo nazis or nazi supporters is as dumb as saying Black Sabbath are devil worshippers.I think at the back of this there’s a minority that are keen to crush the growing respect for germany as a nation, and german self respect.

nevertheless german history needs to bee worked off, in a reasonable way.

i’m not so sure the situation was as simple as you suggest. Did the nazi party stand on the platform of removing all jews from germany? If so, why did the nazis get international support and praise? (Hitler was Time Magazine’s 1938 Man of the Year. And that didn’t happen because of the ideas of one or two individuals within Time Magazine).
When it was clear the nazi party wasn’t particularly popular and wouldn’t win any elections, they got financial support from top industrialists and bankers from the US.
The nazis got into power by heavy duty propaganda. Much like the way the US is prepared us for the attack on Iraq. It wasn’t a case of “here we are, these are the bare facts, these are our goals, vote for us if you wish”.
So, how is democracy different from a totalitarian regime. A democracy with a sophisticated media and propaganda system is essentially a totalitarian regime. With the benefit of, if everything screws up, it’s the people’s fault.
Really, there are two versions of history. The cartoon version with clearly defined authorized good guys and bad guys. And there’s reality, with all the messy confusion of each human individual having his/her own context and reality.
I think we should mock the authorised cartoon version of history as often as possible. The idea of holding a people at fault for a systemic failure is nonsense. And, yes .. simplifying the problem as being due to evil individuals is ridiculous too. These ideas are diversions from the real problem. The systemic failures of a state allow individuals to take advantage and manipulate the state for their own ends. There will always be people who will take advantage of systemic failures.
As an allegory: your roof is faulty and rain is dripping on your head. The water dripping on your head is annoying, but the failure is the faulty roof, not the rain. There will always be rain. We should concentrate on repairing the system, rather than faulting the rain.

Last night after a few days for our digestive tracts to process the Christmas rush, our family went to a separate Christmas in the giant great room of my nephew’s new house for another relative that got adopted out of the family (it’s a long story involving a spiteful woman). For dinner, we had a big spiral-cut glazed ham, baked mac & cheese, green-bean mcuk with spiced tomatoes and mushroom that I concocted, under-the-sea-salad, carrot salad, crescent rolls and sparkling cider. For desert the lady in the pix (my nephew’s wife) made delicious lemon bars. She is shown making up her traditional bread loaf assortments for each of us (eggnog, banana, nut, chocolate, etc.). We also scored big bags of homemade fudge.

I’ve added Du Hast to Amerika and Sonne to my favoirtes.
I only discovered these guys a few days ago. With Industrial Metal (that’s what they call this style, isn’t it?) i normally can’t get from one end of a song to the other. But these guys make it work. .. i think i found out why .. they say they don’t like relentless non-stop guitar pounding because it becomes painful, so they break it up with space to a change of style to allow you to refresh your energy.
