      This is actually true in some instances. If you put water in a cup and heat it in a microwave oven to too high a temperature, it may not come to a boil even though the temperature exceeds 212°F if the cup is very smooth on the inside. Then when the cup is jiggled or otherwise disturbed, the boiling takes place instantly and the water explodes onto you.

        You’re going too far, dear spidergirl. If there’s a cup, chances are that there’s a spoon inside it. And if you try to drink without first removing the spoon… disaster happens, you know? That is why it is best to lick your liquids directly from a plastic bag without even using a straw. It has nothing to do with exploding water into your face or 212F boiling imperfections.

    Dear Marina, I hope you are OK.  I enjoy a cup of coffee and some toast to recover from drinking.  For health reasons, I don’t drink many alcoholic beverages. The best of the non-alcoholic beers I’ve tried was by St. Pauli Girl.  It tasted nice.  Right now, my favorite coffee is Yuban, because I just don’t buy those high-priced coffees they sell in cafes.  I can buy an entire can of coffee at the grocery store
     for the price of some of the mixed, creamed, sugary concoctions they sell at coffee cafes!
