Too bad the whole ‘black/white’ thing is still an issue.
It’s like an addiction… some people just can’t let it go.
I’m not gonna discriminate here – this obsessive compulsive behavior to notice only differences in racial divides is common to both ends of the spectrum.
What I do is this: My take on a person comes purely from where they’re at.
This guy, for example :mrgreen:
He doesn’t have to make being black an ‘issue’, therefore; it’s a sales ploy.
The only thing I’d suggest is he should cut back on the sugar – hypes him out (whew!)… and not because sugar is white – don’t go there :roll:
As far as beef goes, I got beefs, same as everyone.
Many here already know I ain’t shy about ‘em, either.
I have strong PC muscles, but not a PC mind set. :grin:
What he calls ‘beef’, I call something else:
For example, my ‘bitch du jour’ is the TSA,
but I won’t get into that here (that’s what the forums are for!) :mrgreen:
You and I think of black tirades and remember the Dick Gregory / James Baldwin genre. Following them was a period when we tried to make race a non-issue — think Bill Cosby and the Huxtables. But comedians like Andre are reviving “blackness” to use as part of their shtick — a gimmick no more significant than joking about being, say, Irish or Italian in the sixties, at a time when both groups were fairly well integrated into mainstream America. “Blacks” are following the same path; people seem to be less aware that Obama is colored — perhaps because there are so many other things to lampoon him for. :lol:
Yeah, but it goes both ways. There are individuals who try to make a big deal out of being ‘white’; they just don’t get the airplay since the whole George Wallace thingee at University of Alabama back in the ’60′s.
The shtick as it’s used here (albeit mostly suggestive) just perpetuates that extremist mind set; degrading the culture.
It dregs of the past where divisiveness was the norm.
I wanted to stress that you really have to take each person you meet, case by case; don’t rely on the ignorant dregs.
Hello Marina, that was a very good choice for a video, and very funny. I think Andre better do alot more work on having having a beef, with someone :lol: The guy has over a hundred Smurfs? I used to like The Smurfs when I was a kid, I guess I don’t have anything against them now, it just doesn’t seem the same anymore. Keep the cool stuff coming Marina! Peace!

I got a beef with all the fruit flies flying around in our house. I plugged in the vacuum and started chasing them around the place with the nozzle… suckin’ ‘em up fer good. The only problem was that… they are smart!
I dashed around the corner feverishly following this flock of fruit flies and ended up sucking the wig off my friend’s grandmother… ooops!!! :grin: :shock: :roll: ;-)
