Marina, back when I was just 22, I was accidentally overdosed with anesthesia in a hospital in Pennsylvania. They brought me back to life, but I was in a state of complete terror. For years, I suffered from panic attacks. I studied everything I could find about death and transformation, psychology and philosophy, trying to find a way to free myself from the terrible fear. Oh I suppose I have had a few difficult times. It cannot compare to the difficulties many others have had, I am certain. I would like to think that I am so heroic as to have come back from an impossible situation but I have not. I am inspired often by those who have overcome difficulties like those in combat(the Russian Forces at the Battle of Stalingrad in WWII or 101st Airborn in the Battle of the Bulge) or those who have some athletic accomplishment like sailing around the world or scaling a mountain. In a certain sense the obstacles that our ancestors have overcome to make life a little easier for us have been aw inspiring. From time to time they have been my inspiration (I would like to think I am as tough as my Grandad who faught to relieve the 101st airborn – five bronze stars and later became a circus acrobat and profesional marksman). More often than not though, I am simply grateful for their accomplishments and live my life with this in the back of my mind. Thanks for the video Marina.

Millions, if not billions of people would love to have a little car like that. Think about the metal carcasse of the little Nissan Sunny. I never went unconscious, even when my body died. First I watched them from up against the ceiling, then when they said I had stopped breathing and then when they said my heart had stopped, I was watching and listening. Then I left the world and was in total darkness, but was still aware and conscious. There was no tunnel or light or even a sensation that I was in a body, just the awareness of being. The phoenix isn’t eternal, you know? Life on this planet is 4.5 billion years old. In another 7 billion years from now, it will be destroyed by the sun, which will become a red giant. That is if humans don’t destroy it first (which seems to be more likely than seeing earth die from its natural death). When the last fish is poisoned, when the last drop of water is polluted, when the last puff of air is toxic, when the last tree is cut down, when the last leave of salad is eaten, then the tsunami of humanity will realize that money is not breathable or comestible. But by then perhaps the phoenix will still live in some dream somewhere far, far away from here, with the Devil as a companion, and no pesky humans in sight.

What a nice, inspirational lesson. I like being thrown in the fire… I like coming back from insurmountable odds.

My current predicament isn’t all that unsurmountable, but it is an unwanted setback. The recordings I’ve been working on for most of the year with an engineer friend finally got finished, but they ended up falling short of what they need to be. Some vocals need to be replaced, some guitar tracks need to be recorded with more presence, and the overall sonics and balance needs to be mixed a lot better. Unfortunately, most of the time I had to put in just to get to this point was time waiting for my engineer to be freed up. The actual scheduling was pretty ragtag and chaotic, and I feel the recordings suffered for it. My engineer friend is talented, but he turned out to not quite be right for the job, though it least he got me about 80% there.

What I now need to do is take the tracks and work on finishing them up properly with a different engineer. Even though it will take even more time to get it done, I have no choice but to make sure the recordings are the best they can be. I’ll probably get it all finished properly come November or December, and then just wait for January to have the videos all edited and up on youtube. Debuting and/or crosspromoting my music in the holiday season at the end of this year wouldn’t be quite as wise as putting it out come the start of the new year in January.

So, anyway, that is the phoenix-like situation I find myself in. Although I wish I was already done with the recording process, I need to take what I have and improve it to the next level. At least I know what needs to be done now to get there.

I spent alot of time making, and deciding whether or not to send it. I finally found the faith in me to trust that my friends here wouldn’t let me down, if at all possible! I feel like this place is a home away from home, and I try my best, I swear to it, to be your friend. I have a very sensitive nature, ever since I was born, that was me! Even though I do like heavy metal, which is a good thing to me, and don’t think people should be judged by their tastes. To me I don’t think heavy metal is evil , and worshipping the devil, is not the reason I listen to it! Even though most metal is dark in nature for the most part, there are more and more bands coming out with more positive stuff, even in this extreme music scene, yes at the same time there are way over the top to the extremely evil stuff, But I listen to it for the music, it’s not real, at least not to me, even if the band does believe what their singing, doesn’t necessarily Mean I agree with it! I think it’s more like a vice, an outlet for my emotions in all entertainment! Yes I like comedy movies the best,but at a close second, is Sci-FI, And Horror is very close to me! I also love Action/Adventure! Video Games I like platform, and action/adventure the most, but with some darker themed games as well! I also have more spread out likes in my entertainment, than most might think! So you can label me as a freak, if you like. but I’m just being myself, misfit can be another label, I heard them all, for living my life my way, and not following the popular, in crowd, peer pressure, never swayed me from the way I do things, the way I look at things, and what I like.Yes some knowledge can be the best thing in the world, I just don’t think there should be one size fits all for a religion, or politics ETC., no I’m no expert,but I still have my opinions! Thanks for the words of encouragement, Marina! I’m bummed I’m not finished with the recordings yet, but happy that they are at least 80% there and I know what needs to be done to get them to 100%. I can’t wait to share my music with you when it is ready.

You know, I have often wondered what your videomaking process was and if there were any that fell along the wayside because they didn’t quite work. Every video I’ve seen you put out has worked great, and I can tell you have very good standards of quality to what you put out. I’m glad you put this one out… it’s a worthy cause to mention, plus I for one found the timing of this Phoenix lesson just right. It reminds us all that there is always a chance to re-start or make things better no matter how ‘dead’ a situation might appear.

I’ll keep you posted as it comes along… and will of course be checking in on my HFW lessons when I can!

I do read and appreciate your posts. While I can not offer much comment on music, it means a lot to me when you provide links to jokes and to various oddities. I do not believe that metal is evil. I have not posted much because I have been busy with some projects. I have been volunteering some of my time to help some friends build a horse ranch to help others with various disabilities. I have also volunteered some of my time to help another friend write a child’s book on saving species. As best as I can, I have three books of my own that I manage to sometimes do some research for. Even when I don’t have much time to formulate a reply, I still work hard to at least read what others have posted. I hope to be able to make more thoughtful postings in a day or two. No promises though. My friend who is writing a book wants to have something that he can sell on his web site within a month. There is still some more polishing, editing and rewriting to do. My own books will take several years of research to put together properly. But even if I don’t respond much, it enriches my life when you post.

The Number Two

We now come to the spiritual significance of the number Two. We have seen that One excludes all difference, and denotes that which is sovereign. But Two affirms that there is a difference—there is another; while One affirms that there is not another!

This difference may be for good or for evil. A thing may differ from evil, and be good; or it may differ from good, and be evil. Hence, the number Two takes a Two-fold coloring, according to the context.

It is the first number by which we can divide another, and therefore in all its uses we may trace this fundamental idea of division or difference.

The Two may be, though different in character, yet one as to testimony and friendship. The Second that comes in may be for help and deliverance. But, alas! where man is concerned, this number testifies of his fall, for it more often denotes that difference which implies opposition, enmity, and oppression.*

* Like many other words; e.g., the verb “prevent” meant originally for one to get before another. But because whenever one man got before another it was always to the hindrance and hurt of that other, the word gradually took on the meaning to hinder, and thus testifies of man’s fall. So with the word simple: it meant originally sincere, open, honest. But in man’s judgment, any one who so acts is a fool. Hence, man soon came to use the word simple as denoting a very foolish person! So in the French with the word chef, which means “chief.” But as man makes “a god of his belly” he who can best gratify its lusts has a unique claim to this word.

When the earth lay in the chaos which had overwhelmed it (Genesis 1:2), its condition was universal ruin and darkness. The second thing recorded in connection with the Creation was the introduction of a second thing—Light; and immediately there was difference and division, for God DIVIDED the light from the darkness.

So the second day had division for its great characteristic (Genesis 1:6). “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it DIVIDE the waters from the waters.” Here we have Division connected with the second day.

This great spiritual significance is maintained throughout the Word of God. Of course we cannot recognise any human arrangements or divisions of books, chapters, or verses, etc. We can take only that division, order, and arrangement which is Divine.

The second of any number of things always bears upon it the stamp of difference, and generally of enmity.

Take the second statement in the Bible. The first is—

Genesis 1:1: “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

The second is, “And the earth was [or rather became] without form and void.”

Here the first speaks of perfection and of order. The second of ruin and desolation, which came to pass at some time, and in some way, and for some reason which are not revealed.

The Divisions of the Bible

Then we have seen that the Book of Genesis is Divinely divided into twelve parts (consisting of an Introduction and eleven Tol’doth). The first of these twelve divisions records the perfection of God’s sovereign work. The second (Genesis 2:4-4:26) contains the account of the Fall; the entrance of a second being—the Enemy—that old Serpent the Devil, introducing discord, and sin, and death. “Enmity” is seen first in this second division. “I will put enmity” (Genesis 3:15). We see a second to God in the Serpent; a second creature in the woman, who was deceived and “in the transgression”; a second man, in the Seed of the woman, the subject of the great primeval promise and prophecy. Hence the number Two becomes associated with Incarnation, with the second Person of the ever-blessed Trinity, “the second Man,” “the last Adam.”

The second “Tol’doth” (Genesis 5:1-6:8) begins with the words,

“The book of the generations of Adam.”

While of “the second Man” it is written (Matthew 1:1) “the book of the generation of Jesus Christ.”

If we look at the Pentateuch as a whole, we see, in the First book, Divine sovereignty , but the Second book (Exodus) opens with “the oppression of the enemy.” Here, again, there is “another,” even the Deliverer and the Redeemer, who says, “I am come down to deliver” (Exodus 3:8). To Him the praise is offered in the Song of Moses: “Thou in Thy mercy hast led forth the people which Thou hast redeemed” (Exodus 15:13). And thus Redemption is introduced into the Bible, and mentioned for the first time in this second book, and in connection with the enemy (just as was the first promise of the Redeemer in Genesis 3:15).

The second of the three great divisions of the Old Testament, called Nebiim, or the Prophets (Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1 and 2 Samuel, 1 and 2 Kings, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel) contains the record of Israel’s enmity to God, and of God’s controversy with Israel. In the first book (Joshua) we have God’s sovereignty in giving the conquest of the land; while in the second (Judges) we see the rebellion and enmity in the land, leading to departure from God and the oppression of the enemy. Here, again, we have side by side with the enemy the “saviours” whom God raised up to deliver His people.

In the third great division of the Old Testament, called “the Psalms,” because it commences with the Book of Psalms, we have in the Hebrew Canon, as the second Book, the Book of Job. Here, again, we see the enemy in all his power and malignity opposing and oppressing a child of God; and we are taken within the veil to behold the living God as the shield of His people, a very present help in the needful time of trouble.

Besides Genesis, the Book of Psalms is the only book which is marked by any similar Divine divisions.

It consists of Five Books:

The first – Psalms 1-41
The second – Psalms 42-72
The third – Psalms 73-89
The fourth – Psalms 90-106
The fifth – Psalms 107-150

The Second Book of the Psalms commences (as does Exodus) with “the oppression of the enemy” (Psalm 42:9). This is the burden of the whole of this Psalm, and indeed of the whole of this second Book!

Not only is this true of this Second Book, but it is true also of the second Psalm of each of the other books! e.g.:

The second Psalm of First Book (Psalm 2):—

“Why do the heathen rage,
And [why] do the people imagine a vain thing?
[Why do] the kings of the earth set themselves,
And [why do] the rulers take counsel together
Against the LORD and against His anointed?”

But here, again, we have the Deliverer, in verse 6.

“Yet have I set My King.”

The Second Psalm of the Second Book (Psalm 43) opens with “the oppression of the enemy,” repeated in verse 2, together with the prophecy of praise for the promised Deliverer.

The second Psalm of the Third Book (Psalm 74):—

“Lift up Thy feet unto the perpetual desolations:
Even all that the ENEMY hath done wickedly in the sanctuary,
Thine ENEMIES roar in the midst of Thy congregations…
O God, how long shall the ADVERSARY reproach?
Shall the ENEMY blaspheme Thy name for ever?…
Remember this, that the ENEMY hath reproached, O LORD…
O let not the oppressed return ashamed…
Arise, O God, plead Thine own cause…
Forget not the voice of Thine ENEMIES.”

The second Psalm of the Fourth Book (Psalm 91) would have to be quoted as a whole. It describes how the enemy shall be finally trodden down by the coming Deliverer.

The second Psalm of the Fifth Book (Psalm 108):—

“That Thy beloved may be delivered:
Save with Thy right hand, and answer me…
Give us help from trouble,
For vain is the help of man.
Through God we shall do valiantly:
For He it is that shall tread down our ENEMIES.”

The same significance of the number Two is seen in the New Testament. Wherever there are Two Epistles, the second has some special reference to the enemy.

In 2 Corinthians there is a marked emphasis on the power of the enemy, and the working of Satan (2:11, 11:14, 12:7. ).

In 2 Thessalonians we have a special account of the working of Satan in the revelation of “the man of sin” and “the lawless one.”

In 2 Timothy we see the church in its ruin, as in the first epistle we see it in its rule

In 2 Peter we have the coming apostacy foretold and described. While in 2 John we have the “antichrist” mentioned by this name, and are forbidden to receive into our house any who come with his doctrine.*

* Brand (Pop. Ant. iii. 145) quotes Numerus Infaustus, in the preface to which the author says, “Such of the kings of England as were the second of any name proved very unfortunate persons, William II, Henry II, Edward II, Richard II, Charles II, James II.”

It is impossible even to name the vast number of things which are introduced to us in pairs, so that the one may teach concerning the other by way of contrast or difference.

The Two foundations of Matthew 7:24-27: the one which “fell not, for it was founded upon a rock”; the other which “fell, and great was the fall of it.” The Two goats (Leviticus 16:7); the Two birds (Leviticus 14:4-7); the Two opinions (1 Kings 18:21); the Two masters (Matthew 6:24); the Two commandments (Matthew 22:40); the Two debtors (Luke 7:41); the Two covenants (Galatians 4:24); the Two men (Luke 18:10); the Two sons (Matthew 21:28, and Luke 15:11, and Galatians 4:22), etc., etc.

The Life Types of Genesis

The second of the seven life-types of Genesis has the same character.

The first Adam sets forth our first parents in their innocence, fall, and expulsion, driven out from the presence of God (Genesis 3:24). How could they again walk with God? This is the great problem which is to be solved in the words which immediately follow, written on the forefront of revelation to set before us the answer to the all-important question,

“How can Two walk together except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3).

The solution is given in Genesis 4, in the second life-type, which is Two-fold in the persons of Cain and Abel. Here are presented and described the Two ways—”The way of God” (Acts 18:26) and “The way of Cain” (Jude 11), the only Two Religions which the world has ever seen. One, the true; the other, the false.

True religion is one and unchangeable. Its language is—

“NOTHING in my hand I bring,
Simply to Thy cross I cling.”

False religion is one and unchangeable. It has many varieties; its one language is—

“SOMETHING in my hand I bring.”

Men quarrel bitterly as to what that something is to be. They persecute, and burn, and destroy one another in the heat of their controversies about it. But however this “something” may vary, it is one, in that it is not “the way of God,” not the way which God has appointed, but it is “the way of Cain,” man’s way. The one is “faith,” the other is “works.” The one is “grace,” the other is human “merit.” The one is “the path of life,” the other ends in “the second death.”

Not only have we this contrast or eternal difference in Cain and Abel, but others are presented in this manner, in order to bring out truths of the deepest significance and solemnity.

Abraham and Lot

Abraham and Lot are so presented. These Two were related as uncle and nephew; both descended from Shem through Terah. Both started together from Ur of the Chaldees to Haran in Mesopotamia (Genesis 11); they both started together from Haran to go into the land of Canaan (Genesis 12:4); and afterwards they both go up together out of Egypt (Genesis 13:1). But soon the difference between the Two was manifested, and “there was a strife” between them. The difference was manifested.

Lot, the second of this pair, lifted up his own eyes and chose his own portion (13:11); while Abram’s portion was chosen for him by God (13:14). Thus they were “separated” (13:11,14).

First, Lot looked and “behold” the plain of Jordan with its cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, and it seemed to him “as the garden of the LORD” (Genesis 13:10); then he “chose” this for his portion (13:11); then he “pitched his tent towards Sodom” (13:12); then he “dwelt in Sodom,” and shared in Sodom’s troubles and wars, and lost all the treasure which he had laid up there (14:12). He afterwards “sat in the gate of Sodom” (19:1) and held office there as a judge in spite of his being daily “vexed” with their ungodly words and deeds (2 Peter 2:6-9); and finally he escaped from its overthrow, only with his life.

Abram, on the other hand, had his portion with God. He walked by faith; he pitched his tent only where he could build his altar (12:8, 13:3,4); he held communion with God who was his “shield and exceeding great reward” (15:1). Though he was a stranger on earth, he was “the friend of God,” and received the secrets of God’s purposes (Psalm 25:14; Amos 3:7; John 15:15). Truly there was a difference. And this difference was greater in their Two wives. Sarah was a type of the Heavenly Jerusalem (Galatians 4:21-31); while “Lot’s wife” became a pillar of salt, and remains a beacon of warning to be for ever remembered (Luke 17:32).

Issac and Ishmael

Issac and Ishmael are presented together. Here the relationship was nearer, for they were step-brothers. Both were the sons of Abram, Sarah being the mother of Isaac, and Hagar the mother of Ishmael. Though the relationship according to the flesh was nearer than that between Abram and Lot, the difference was morally and spiritually greater. For it is written, “neither because they are the seed of Abraham are they all children: for in Isaac shall thy seed be called” (Romans 9:7). Oh! how great was the difference! Isaac, “born after the spirit”; Ishmael, “born after the flesh” (Galatians 4:29,30), and therefore a persecutor. We read of no “just” Ishmael, no “righteous” Ishmael, as we do of Lot. Lot’s descendants were the Moabites and Ammonites, and Ruth the Moabitess was an ancestress of Jesus. But Ishmael’s posterity were “cast out,” and continue to this day wild and unsubdued.

Jacob and Esau

Jacob and Esau are presented together. Here the relationship is still closer. Not only were they the children of the same father (Isaac), but of the same mother (Rebekah). But the spiritual difference is still greater. The enmity was manifested when the babes “struggled together,” being yet unborn (Genesis 25:22). And it is written in the Scriptures of truth, “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated” (Malachi 1:2,3; Romans 9:13). Esau was “a fornicator and a profane person,” despising his birthright (Hebrews 12:16,17); while Jacob so loved and prized it that he sinned grievously in grasping it. As the difference is seen in the posterity of Abraham and Lot, Isaac and Ishmael, so here it is still more marked. Israel is Jehovah’s glory, the “everlasting nation” (Isaiah 43:12,13, 44:7); while the Edomites were accursed. And of the Amalekites Jehovah declared that He would “have war with Amalek from generation to generation” (Exodus 17:16).

Words which Occur Twice

A long list of these might be made. We give a few from the Hebrew and from the Greek. In all such words we can see important instruction. In apoplew (apopleo) we see the work of the enemy seducing the very elect, were it possible (Matthew 13:22), and causing them to err from the faith (1Timothy 6:10).

In apopnigw (apopnigo) we see the enemy choking the seed (Matthew 13:7), and himself choked in the sea (Luke 8:33).

In apolausiV (apolausis) we have the things which God has given us for enjoyment (1Timothy 6:17), and the enjoyment of the pleasures of sin (Hebrews 11:25).

In apokuew (apokueo) we have sin bringing forth death (James 1:15), and God begetting us by the word of truth (James 1:18).

In atmiV (atmis) we see the difference between earthly life, which is but a vapour, compared with life which is eternal (James 4:14; Acts 2:19).

In panoplia (panoplia) (panoply) we see a difference indeed. It is not that the word occurs twice (merely as a word), but it is used in Two senses and Two places, namely, of the armour of Satan (Luke 11:22), and the armour of God (Ephesians 6:11,17).

The armour of the “strong man” is taken from him by the “stronger than he,” and the soul is delivered, never more to be under the dominion of Satan. All the armour in which Satan trusted is then taken away from him (Luke 11:21,22), and the poor sinner who was before in his power is now endued with the “whole armour of God.”*

* Not so when Satan “goes out” of a man of his own accord. For this parable is given in immediate connection with the other. Satan is not despoiled of his armour in this case. He is not “cast out.” Hence the man sweeps his house and garnishes it. He takes pledges, and wears badges, but the house is “empty.” Satan returns with all his power, and the last state of that man is worse than the first (Luke 11:24-26; Matthew 12:43-45).

Similar studies may be made with other words. And even where a word may occur often, it may occur only twice in connection with another word making a phrase. This may be significant. For example, o uioV thV apwleiaV, the son of perdition. Both of these words, “son” and “perdition,” occur many times, but only twice together (John 17:12 and 2Thessalonians 2:3, pointing to Psalm 109). Some have questioned from this whether Judas Iscariot will be revealed again as the man of sin.

Not only do we trace this significance where we have the number “Two,” but where Two things are named, though they are not numbered.

The Potter’s Two Vessels of Jeremiah 18:1-4

The first vessel which he made was marred; the second was “another” vessel, as it pleased the potter to make it.

This is interpreted in the context, of Israel ruined, but to be restored; broken off, but to be grafted in again; self-destroyed, but finding Divine help.

The same great difference may be seen in the Two COVENANTS. The first marred, not faultless, waxen old, and taken away (Hebrews 8:7,8,13, 10:9); the second “a better Covenant,” “new,” and “established” (Hebrews 8:6,8, 10:9,16,17).

The ORDINANCES of the Law, “weak” and “unprofitable” (Hebrews 7:18, 10:6,9). The ordinances of grace, the “good things to come.”

“The FIRST MAN,” marred (Genesis 2:7, 3:19), and of the earth, earthy. “The second man,” the Lord from Heaven (1Corinthians 15:47). The first Adam condemned to death, the last Adam living again for evermore.

The BODY, marred in the Fall, and made subject to death and corruption, but in Resurrection to be made like Christ’s own body of glory (1 John 3:1-3; Philippians 3:21; Romans 8:23; 1Corinthians 15:42-49).

The OLD CREATION under the curse marred and ruined (Genesis 3); “The New Heavens and the New Earth” established in righteousness (Revelation 21, 22);—a mighty difference indeed. “No night there,” “no need of the sun,” “no more sorrow,” “no more curse,” no more sin, or suffering, or death. Oh, wondrous difference! and this for ever and for ever. “He taketh away the first that He may ESTABLISH the second.” “Praise the LORD!” Rebellious ISRAEL’S heart taken away, and a new heart given. ORDINANCES which “perish with the using” replaced by the Christ of God. MAN ruined and lost, but saved with an everlasting salvation. The BODY of humiliation sown in corruption, but raised in incorruption. The HEAuthorized Version ENS and EARTH passed away, and the new heavens and the new earth established for ever in glory.

But we have seen that where there are Two, though there is still difference, this difference may be in a good sense. It may be for oppression or hindrance, or it may be for association and mutual help. See Ruth 4:11, where of Leah and Rachel it is written: “Which Two did build up the house of Israel.” It may be the proverbial “Two and Two” of apostleship and service. Or it may be our association with Christ in death and resurrection, of which Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the great sign and token.

Especially does it mark that “other,” the Saviour and mighty deliverer, spoken of in Psalm 89:19: “I have laid help on one that is mighty.” The second person of the Trinity partook of Two natures— perfect God and perfect man. Perfect man indeed, but oh, how different! “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth, for he hath not another to help him up.”

It is still “another,” but there is “help” instead of enmity. No longer the Two differing, but the Two agreed; for “How can Two walk together except they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3).

Two testimonies may be different, but yet one may support, strengthen, and corroborate the other. Jesus said:

“The testimony of Two men is true. I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me” (John 8:17,18).

And it is written in the Law:

“At the mouth of Two witnesses, or three witnesses,” shall the matter be established (Numbers 35:30; Deuteronomy 17:6, 19:15; Matthew 18:16; 2Corinthians 13:1; 1Timothy 5:19; Hebrews 10:28).

The whole Law itself hung on “Two commandments” (Matthew 22:40).

God’s own revelation is Two-fold. The Old Covenant and the New are God’s sufficient testimony to man. And yet how different. The Law and Grace; Faith and Works!

We may notice also that it is the second Person of the Trinity who is specially called “the Faithful Witness” (Revelation 1:5). And we have other examples of the number Two in connection with faithful testimony. Caleb and Joshua were Two faithful witnesses of the truth of God’s Word. Faithlessness said: “We be not able to go up against the people. For they are stronger than we.” But Faith could say “Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it” (Numbers 13:30,31). And these were the two who alone out of 600,000 men did possess their inheritance in the land. Today, also, it is not numbers. The testimony of numbers may be as false today as was that of the Spies. It is the testimony of the two based on God’s Word which alone was true. May this encourage us to stand firm in these days of apostasy, with ears deaf to the words of man, but attentive to the words of Jehovah. Firm, even though the whole congregation be against us, and we be only the few who are waiting to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

Let us have for our seal the faithfulness of Jehovah, and say always and ever, “Let God be true, and every man a liar.”

Funny story… one time I was practicing writing the alphabet with a calligraphy pen and the ink was so dark you could see the writing from the other side of the paper. So it was backwards. I’m doing very well today. My friend who is writing the children’s book is nearing the end. But I’m not so sure it can be ready in a month. He’s getting antsy and wants to finish it up so that he can start the next book on the series. If he doesn’t wrap it up in one month then maybe it will be two.
As for my own books, there are coming very slowly. I’ve had very little time to put into them since I first thought of them many years ago. My current life situation is such that I now have a lot more time to put into my research. I just wish I had this much time to put into my projects when I was thirty years younger. I do not work on these books because I like writing or because I want to be known. I work on these projects because, as far as I know, I am the only one who can make the contributions that are expressed in these books. I would gladly give them up to another if I could find another who could understand these issues and was willing to write these books for me. Unfortunately, the only viable manner to get someone to these issues is to write these books in the first place. So I might as well quite complaining and get to work. Thank you very much for your care and concern. You consistently brighten up my day.

On appeal, he was found innocent on any wrongdoing, even accidental, because the accusation was baseless.
The bartender decided he needed a rest – and closed the bar.

Dear thematrix,
I’m doing well. I hope you are too. I won’t be back to the horse ranch till Saturday. That day we will be putting some roof panels on some paddocks. It will take at least three people to do that job. Last Monday we put some plywood side panels on to keep the rain out. Last winter was awful for the horses. Their paddocks were a couple of feet thick with soft mud mixed with horse shit. Their legs just sank into it. Hopefully, their paddocks will remain dry this winter.
For now, most of my time is taken up in helping my friend proof read and polish his book “The Race to Save the Species”. He has already announced his book on his web site, http://specieshelp.com/ . His book is very worthwhile, so I want to do my best.
While I am still doing some of my own work, I’m not in a position to focus in on it as much as I would like. I will probably be able to give my own projects more time in about 2-3 weeks. As much as I can, I am currently reading Sir James Frazer’s “Folk-lore in the Old Testament.” I’m trying to get a better understanding of the transition from primitive thinking to the thinking of the earliest civilzations. That in turn is part of my trying to get a better understanding of the history of psychology.
I’ll probably be off-line for part of next week. I’ll be in Florida visiting a young woman who has been like a daughter to me. She now has two little girls of her own, one about four and a half and the other only about six months.

Yes… I liked Carl Sagan. I wrote “billions and billions” in my theory somewhere in honor of him (although it’s rumored he never actually said that?)

I’ve been thinking about all of this again and came up with new massive discovery (I think anyway). I’m going to write it up when I think of everything else that goes with it. It’s very easy to understand… and completely obvious when you read / hear it.

In a reply to someone else who commented on this post, I briefly explained that I thought too that he had a special way of explaining our existence, the stars and the universe. I stated that Sagan used layman’s terms (but effective) in reaching out to make the AVERAGE person have an understanding of this.

I was tying to find the correct word for every other month and found only conflicting answers. Both bi-monthly and semi-monthly gave definitions stating they meant both every other month and twice a month. Which is correct {bi-monthly} or {semi-monthly}? Or is it option 3? Not to seem like a crybaby. But I had had nervous hives from ages 16-26 and took the medications Etrafon or Tranxene for the burning rash on my skin. Just for fun, I seem to remember in grade school that they used to call the Alphabet in grade school writing class THE PHOENICIAN ALPHABET. And I had to wonder if the Hebrews who settled into Isreal after the Exodus gave that alphabet to them or did they get it from the Phoenicians. I read CIVILIZATIONS BEFORE GREECE AND ROME by Saggs and THE BIBLE AS HISTORY both around 1989 before I began to research Bible prophecy part time. I am not sure who had the first alphabet.

This lesson prompted me to write as I know of a guy who fits perfectly the home work!
His story, is a love story unlike any other. One fired by magic, dreams, many sudden set backs only to be saved by this amazing woman who stole his everything!

He, told me his story, over a long pint or two recently in a noisy pub that was soon hushed by his sincere words. Even the resident dog sat beside him, giving him knowing looks with growls, grunts understanding whimpers. Barking mad to those who did not believe to trust in such a tail, they too were all ears once they saw his face, hearing his tone of voice which spoke only words of loves admiration….

His life was at the peak of woes, finding himself asking the top room for hope. The only time he ever asked for help, he needed something incredible to make him believe, to have hope again.

He said -’I knew at once when I saw her on my computer, this was something magical. What I didn’t know at the time was how she would change my life forever! – she blew me away on all levels, it was certainly meant to be. I went crazy mad for her, it was impossible for me to ignore her, I soon found my self living through her eyes as she filled up my heart with brightest light. I started to miss her before even knowing I had fallen, head over heals, smitten in love for her. Until then, love was a thing I read in books or saw others do. Kept banging my head on the ceiling, saying embarrassing chunks of fleshy words to her blog, making a fool out of me was too easy. I was happy to do that as she made me so happy. Love lifted me to a new place alien to me, it was just all too amazing for words! Never had I felt so happy as I did then’

He sat looking into the fire, cuddling his pint of beer for comfort, the dog now resting at his feet looking back up to him. A message I knew destroyed a perfect dream. I admit, I was scared maybe confused. I was having a really bad day, I guess, I.. didnt want to cause hurt, just had to share my bad day, I didnt stop to think!! She was after all my nearest and dearest but even so! Lets just say its my only regret in life!’ -Then what, I swear the dog asked this!

‘I sank, knowing I had said wrong but died seeing the hurt I caused her. I was back in a dark place, one that I have only ever understood in my life. I guess I was in protection mode or something. Being a coward when faced with such beautiful danger was all I knew, at the time! Months rolled by, unable to find my words to explain how sorry and how sad I was feeling, seeing her change like that because of me. I was mortified. Before I knew it was her Birthday then Christmas. I tried to find words to win her back, but she was really pissed off. So, I listened to my heart, silenced my Ego, took leafs from her book. The flack was unrelenting but I knew I deserved it however, I believed as she told me to. Wasnt going to let a stupid mistake win over this magic. I could see her still, as clear as day, even though she gave looks of daggers, obvious digs I took each one one by one. Continuing to believe, I watched her becoming ever greater, ever more beautiful, ever more real…’

Woof!! – said the dog…obviously!

‘Before I knew it, Valentines day was upon us. The feeling of her with another ate hard but I had to show her, that I am here for her regardless. Had to show her or tell her, this love was real, not just A N Other. She looked so beautiful too, I found my self cursing to my self, becoming ever more hungry…falling deeper in love. Friends of mine were becoming concerned as I lost sleep, weight, could think nothing but her. They told me things to make it all sound so silly, so false, that she was only playing calling her nasty things which I would not stand for. I was now a different crazy, uptight with anger for myself yet still, my heart beat was louder than their voices of denial. They wouldnt believe nor could they see her the way I still do’

We all sat watching him gulping his pint dry, all now wanting good to happen, wondering what she was thinking too…

He went on – ‘Soon after, some company anniversary was happening, she spoke with heart felt emotion as to how wonderful her time had been, for she had become far greater than imagined. Her given thanks to everyone with well wishes to others echoed most…then, her asking how do we feel now, about her, with tears…plus a set of nostrils which flared wider than my own in these times, was simply shaking! Always found her nose to be the cutest nose ever! Again, more things we have in common showed each moment. Many pleaded guilty in vain, responding to her words, that someone had stolen her heart. She let me know in a colourful way it was directed towards me. Now I knew for real, she really was real!! Now deepest in love, hope had returned only this time I wanted to move on, to see if there was any chance of another dance….

GGRRRR…..- I let the dog out for a piddle!

We all sat silent, wondering if the dance continued, wanting to know if love really does win over all things trying…more beer!! One punter laughed accusing him of being wet behind the ears! He reached inside his pocket, pulled out a photo of her, placing it on the table. The mocker was stunned silent giving a knowing look nodding saying….WOW, she looks amazing, no wonder….carry on!

With the dog now sat on his lap receiving biggest hugs, he continued….

‘She came to town on work duties, left as soon as she arrived. This firmly grasped the reality, maybe my friends were right after all. Not seeing her was horrid but didnt want to be that scary stalker or to kill a dream! I guessed it was over or never was right then. But still inside, my heart beats for her with a promise of belief burning away, all I can do is let go…..’

Another log on the fire, the locals sat round talking their opinions about this couple, one of bi-polar chancing.

‘If this was your last day, what would you say to her, if you had the chance?’ – said the dog, most definitely the dog after a few ales…good boy!!!

‘What to say? I would tell her I love her more than anything or anyone put together times a zillion. Explain the effect she has had on me has been super natural, a living dream. Thank her for believing in me when no one else would, for giving me a chance to grow, to learn to face my darkest fears, to be able to feel love for the first time, in putting up with my many faults, for being true regardless of situation, for fun, sincerity with a positive attitude towards a negative hold life had on me. How she makes me tongue tied, at times. To shout her name to the world, let the world know we have the best woman, the best spirit the greatest soul all to share…say I miss her always, that she has my heart, rules my mind, gives me reasons to want to live in a world I know as dark, where she shines so bright, her smile melts me complete, when her eyes catch mine its as if I am that sweep stake winner, I walk on air, she turns my every impossible to Im Possible!! Tell her, since first seeing her, hearing her voice, seeing her for who she is, every moment has been with her, in my dreams in my waking hours. Make her aware that she inspires me, to write, to think, makes me learn, to know, to be. Explain all the freaky connections of telepathy were clear, so true. Tell her if I could get my ass over to see her I would do but respect her more in staying away. Thank her for being her….too wish her the best of everything that she so rightly deserves. Remind her, whenever she feels alone if that were ever possible, just to think a little magic, close her eyes so she will always find me in her dreams where she keeps me alive, always dancing for her…all be it me just a boy, no one special’

‘So why don’t you tell her this, before it’s too late?’ – everyone asked simultaneously! (amazing the effects of a few beers can have on people!!)

The pub lit up into songs over the piano, where strangers became friends, as said by Faithless, this is where bitterness ends! He quietly left taking the dog for a midnight walk along the river. Both looked up to see a shooting star, fire across the face of the man in the moon who gave a wink and a smile back at them.
