As always, take computerized translations with a grain of salt. E.g. I tried Yulia Savicheva’s “Если в сердце живёт любовь” and it came back as “If you live in the heart of love.” The real meaning is “If love lives in the heart.”

So, my guess is that you haven’t been following the HotForWords tweets? I think Twitter is still much better for some things than Facebook. Each has their strengths and pros and cons, but it depends on the people.

One of the reasons that you think that Twitter sucks is because you may not be using the right application. With Facebook it is similar to Apple. they make the software and the hardware. With Twitter, there is the native application, but you will want to use something different. I use Tweetgrid.com, a website mostly, but also use Tweetdeck a standalone download. Try Tweetgrid and monitor the HotForWords channel. You may get back into Twitter. Then, you can try Tweetdeck.

I tried Fartgrid and Poopdeck before, but I just wasn’t feelin’ it. Fartbook is all the social networking I need. If I was ever to go back to Twitter – it would only be to follow our trusty hotforwords, but right now – I am just enjoying watching what you all do out on it!

I use iTweet.net for my twitter account. It’s simple and yet does a lot of cool things. Colby it the coder for the site and he’s a super cool guy. We are planning to do a tweetup soon.

I found twitter to be a very powerful networking tool when you get a lot of followers. I’ve been able to do things that facebook could never do for me.

I totally understand your feelings towards twitter. I to thought it was worthless. Though I find it useful now, I still hate the darn service. There’s a lot of issues that they need to address. I’m still betting that some other service will make it nearly obsolete. But for now, I can’t live without it.

I’m sorry to hear about your regular employment situation, I didn’t know. I guess you probably know it’s still tough out there with this ongoing recession. I had to deal with being unemployed over a year ago but Ianded a position in the specialty ceramics field which they don’t seem to be affected by this recession. Had to take a drastic pay cut, work more for less return but it seems to be working out and I’m heading on my way back up. I know I’m not going back to the homebuilding industry which I was involved with for more than a decade as far as regular work. Pay and benefits were fantastic but that came to an end in the winter of ’07 and I know those days are gone. But maybe chaos and disorder might make things exciting :razz: nah just kiddin’ Like you say it’s all good.
So you’re getting your ass kicked in 3 startup bands…could be exciting. I hear you’re saying the pay’s little but it could be good getting involved in the local music scene again and take your mind off of other bullshit, music is good ;-)

Now James, I am not trying to insult you, or anything. You have a creative attitude on Youtube that gives watching your videos and extra kick!
But It’s these kind of moves Youtube Makes that feels like it kicks all the other users right in the ass.
When someone applies for a Youtube Partner, there are a couple categories they look at. The decision is not based off of a computer, rather than from actually workers via Youtube.
The Very First Thing they look at is the Insight off all of your videos in the past year or so. If they see a constant increase in views, the decision is increased to a “yes”
The Next thing they look at (of coarse) is the total video views. (and I think you know what happens)
The Funny Thing is, the Workers Via Youtube Don’t Care the Least Bit about how many subscribers you have. The don’t even spare a passing glance. This is because now, on Youtube, You-tubers Cheat. I think James you would know what this is, as so called a “sub4sub” is where they trade subscribers, without actually getting one.
The reason it ticks others off, is from your current state, your channel has the same amount of views as other channels, yet they have been rejected from the channel, many times.

I would know this because I used to work at youtube, believe it or not! :grin:

I’ve gotten a very good backup band together and a very good producer/engineer to work with, so it should all come out pretty damn good. Once the EP’s recorded, I’ll get my youtube channel up with some videos, though what I’m really looking forward to is live performances with the band specifically for youtube.

It all depends where the music comes from. What I would recommend is the preloaded “imovie” music, as that is perfectly fine when it comes to copyright.
Now that you are a Youtube Partner, you have to be even more cautious, because more, and more people are watching your content.

You know what to do… if it is not yours, than don’t put it on the video. You could probably get away with it, but be careful. :grin:
