I guess Hillary Clinton would be the answer unless this is some sort of trick question. “Ms. Orlova, could you get me those personnel files? They are in the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet.” Ben Franklin said, “Three can keep a secret if two of them are dead”. Are you taking applications for secretary? I still know how to use a typewriter.

If you have a ipod(s) how many songs are in it? Movies/videos?
I have 1 movie and 3292 songs. I know thats [a spit in the bucket ] on a 80g classic, so please share.

I’m one of those people who never listens to music while on the go, other than the car, where I listen to the radio (i.e. surprise me). It drives me nuts to listen to music that I have as it is predictable, no matter how randomly the songs are played. Wen there is a song that I like, I’ll listen to it a thousand times, until I get sick of it.

When I am doing things away from my desk at home or the car, I am way too busy to listen to anything. In those rare moments when I want to call up a song here is what I have on my iPhone. At home, I don’t need to use the iPhone to listen.

On my iPhone I have zero songs (Audio), and about 12 videos. Two videos are HotForWords lessons, 9 music videos and one full length movie Caddyshack, which I have yet to see the complete movie. One of these days.

hey PK, I see a potential problem with this site. I don’t know if you see this, but I see a Potential Problem on the HFW home page. Do you see this too?

  • http://wired.reddit.com/sexygeeks_2008/?s=top pedanticKarl

What do you mean by potential problem?
No, I do not see the issue that you are seeing.
What you are seeing is a missing image.
I don’t see it missing. See my link.
    http://i42.tinypic.com/1zqer76.jpg

On very rare occasions I may see what you see, but NOT just this site. What you are seeing is normal browser synchronization, reload, cache update operations. Clear your browser cache to see if the image appears.

Also, specify you OS and browser. (i.e. Mac, FF3.6.3)
    I’m using W2K with FF3.6.3

  • http://www.savannahvideocentral.com PaparazziKid

Ive cleared, and even reset safari. Nothing. It does this everytime she uploads a new video. When I click the link it goes to “NOT FOUND ERROR 404″ :???: :???:

    Yeah you are… :???: :???:

  • http://wired.reddit.com/sexygeeks_2008/?s=top pedanticKarl

    Have you tried using FireFox?
I have zero problems and all images load all of the time.

  • http://www.savannahvideocentral.com PaparazziKid

you know, I am very sick of people bitching about how firefox is so good. (not that i r doing it) Firefox is not that good actually. The frame rates compared to Safari is like horrible. I have used it, and I hate it!!!!!!!!! Safari loads to much faster, and I.Explorer.
And no, firefox still has the same problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • http://www.savannahvideocentral.com PaparazziKid

Well, it looks like to me, Marina is not exactly “short on money” As you can see from her pics, she has a different Macbook every video, GEESH! she has a 4 grand camera, an ipad, iphone, and a nexus one. Wow…

  • http://wired.reddit.com/sexygeeks_2008/?s=top pedanticKarl

Wow, you are way off base here Chase.
First, I didn’t bitch that FF is good and most people don’t bitch.
They brag. People bitch about MSIE being a piece of crap for a variety of reasons.

It might be true that Safari loads faster, but that is not a criteria why I use a browser. Opera loads very fast also, and even though Opera has some nice features, there are things I don’t like about it.

If what you say is true about FF also not loading the images, then you have a possible OS issue. Google Safari image loading and you’ll see that a lot of other people are having that problem.

In fact, in the late 90′s, image loading was one of the most talked about browser issues and lots of people made jokes about it. That was during the Netscape and MSIE battle days and WIN98 had just been released. Image loading issue are old hat. Research it on Google to see if anything fits with your OS or the browser.

    Hi Teach
That, sad to say, would be Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Not quite as useless as her hubby’s pick in his administration, Madeleine Albright, but pretty much a screen door on a submarine.
I like the retro intro; What is the intro music, BTW? I heard it on TV somewhere late one night, but dozed off before I could jot it down to look into it.

Yes, but that’s not my definition of rich.

It was merely a question of association.

Although yes, as you point out it, has bought her a state-of-the-Art American Barbie playset/studio. I’m well aware of that, but also the global distribution and Universal nature of her act.

It was a hypothetical. That is all.

I use Firefox and Opera alternately (I know the second browser is rather little known in the US). Opera works faster, uses less RAM and seems to be better designed, but sometimes doesn’t properly process pages that fully support only particular browsers (and Firefox is always in the list), but fortunately that happen more and more rarely now.

  • pandion

I think President Obama made Hillary Clinton his Secretary of State to keep her out of town.

If you ever want to know what is going on in a company get to know the secretaries. They do know everything that is happening.

 I wrote about Opera without noticing your two comments on it below mine. I prefer Opera in the daily use and like its features (many of them need extensions to be applied in Firefox and are built in Opera; too many extensions can slow down Firefox), but Firefox is much more extensible, I use many Firefox extensions for special purposes (e.g. iMacros for automation) so I choose the browser depending on what I do (something like 60% of using Opera and 40% Firefox).

    Hi fglrx,
I haven’t used Opera for about 6+ years since at that time Mozilla (now known as Seamonkey – a suite of products) made a strong showing and FireFox didn’t exist yet. In fact, my second browser is Seamonkey. What I didn’t like about Opera is that it didn’t render many webpages as you mentioned down below and it did not have the features that Seamonkey and FF have.

I don’t like what was done with the name Lolita beginning from Nabokov :| As we know, Lolita is a diminutive form of the Spanish name Dolores and it came from Santa María de los Dolores (Saint Mary of Sorrow, referring to the Mother of Christ accompanying her Son during the Crucifixion). So the noble name that had its origin in the essence of Christianity (the Passion of Christ) gained such a vulgar sexual meaning :|

P.S. Marina, you really should seek out Greg Graffin of Bad Religion. He’s no longer married (I don’t think) and I know how hard it is for you to find a guy who loves your brain as much as your body. Greg and you would be an incredible mesh of brainpower and lyrical prowess. Not too mention be very happy together. He’s the ultimate Punk Rock frontman, and just a really cool dude (He also holds a PhD in Zoology / Evolutionary Biology – maybe you could reach him about God and help him understand).

I dunno – you are like a lil’ sister now, so I am just looking out for you. But really – you should meet Greg Graffin.

What does this two-finger gesture mean? Marina has recently been showing it a lot. It’s neither the V-sign nor the British ‘f*ck off’ sign. Is it something like rappers’ ‘ayo!’ (hey you), a peace sign or just a sign of good fun?

The math man has a figure   …from the net of all nets—-In the Epicurean view, the highest pleasure (tranquility and freedom from fear) was obtained by knowledge, friendship and living a virtuous and temperate life. He lauded the enjoyment of simple pleasures, by which he meant abstaining from bodily desires, such as sex and appetites, verging on asceticism. He argued that when eating, one should not eat too richly, for it could lead to dissatisfaction later, such as the grim realization that one could not afford such delicacies in the future. Likewise, sex could lead to increased lust and dissatisfaction with the sexual partner. Epicurus did not articulate a broad system of social morality that has survived.

In the UK these days, it depends on which way the hand is facing when the ‘V’ is displayed. If the back of the hand is shown to the recipient of the ‘V’ it’s a f*** off! But if the palm with the two last fingers covered with the thumb is shown, it usually represents the victory sign.
Ironically, the often accepted originator of the popularity of the ‘V’ sign was Winston Churchill and he sometimes showed the back of his hand until the difference was explained to him. :¬0

  • http://www.DamnNearGeni.us AllynTygrrr

    Errr…

I specifically depends on the person and their intended usage of it.

A lot of people get things wrong.

I started using the ‘V’ sign as part of my project back in 2006 – but for the exact point of illustrating how few know the difference between the ‘peace’ meaning and the ‘victory’ meaning.

The hidden context of my usage during that politically rhetorical phase was to symbolize ‘peace through victory’ while seeing how many people would mimic it not knowing what gestures stood for what. I suppose it worked well-enough.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_sign

Like everything else it got old when everyone else started doing it much less doing it blindly and incorrectly, so since then the ‘coded gestures’ in my occasional pics have been changed and evolve over time.

Most recently I started holding up my 3 middle fingers in pictures because, what comes after 2?, and, more importantly, to represent ‘+he 777 Agend^’…another little side project of mine that doesn’t officially exist just to be sarcastic.

Next up is a combination of something I derived between ‘The Heisman’ and Pulp Fiction – a five-fingered palm towards the camera with a horizontal ‘V’ sign on the other hand – giving a total of 7 fingers combined – but amusingly cute symbolism between them.

    Shhh!!!

    lolz

I drove to Monterey this weekend, and was surprised to see you posted a new video when I was away. It’s nice to receive new videos over the weekend!
Gasoline was $3.099/gallon today, so I drove at moderate speeds on the highway. I noticed the drivers on the left lane or fast lane are those who don’t care much about the price of fuel. They drive Mercedes-Benz (like you do), or Audis, Cadillacs, Porsches, Explorers, and other rich cars. I even saw a Ferrari. I guess it’s no secret they can afford to drive fast.

This request is compatible with Marina’s tweet from 11 hrs ago:
You were not born a winner, and you were not born a loser. You are what you make yourself be.

If someone [procrastinate] a lot, will become a loser. Procrastination in heavy forms can be a symptom of ADHD (or ADD), depression, several anxiety disorders or many other disorders connected with dysfunctions of prefrontal and cingulate cerebral cortex, basal ganglia and monoaminergic systems. If someone has genetic predisposition to develop such a disorder, he is really like a ‘born loser’ in our modern society.

I chronically struggle with procrastination, Internet addiction, depressive states (dysthymia) and anxiety, so I know how hard it is. Treatment isn’t so effective.

    Hello Marina

Where did the term [PIMP] come from?? I know that its the guy who controls street prostitutes but how did it originate? It popular in the hip hop community.

The term [Madame] is used for the lady who controls female prostitutes. How did that word originate?

    Fractured Fairy Tale:

Confronted with invading [hordes] of barbarians, a king hurriedly arranged to hide his treasure before fleeing for safety. A peasant loyal to the king agreed to stow the king’s throne in the rafters of his grass cottage.
That night, the peasant awoke to a creak…crack…crunch…crash! as the heavy throne broke through the rafters and landed on the peasant in his bed, killing him.

Moral: People who dwell in grass houses shouldn’t stow thrones.

As far as the most POWERFUL secretary, I’m going with someone different and say it’s TheSecretary of The Treasury, former NY Federal Reserve President Tim Geithner. With his close circle of friends and ties with the central banking community i.e The Federal Reserve they can influence and fund scenarios like this. :???: ….and there’s so much more they can do.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, acronym UNSYG, is the head of the Secretariat, one of the principal organs of the United Nations. The Secretary-General also acts as the de facto spokesperson and leader of the United Nations.—–The official residence of the Secretary-General is a five-story townhouse in the Sutton Place neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City, New York, United States. The townhouse was built for Anne Morgan in 1921, and donated to the United Nations in 1972.

The current Secretary-General is Ban Ki-moon of South Korea, ___ http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4f/Bankimoon07052007.jpg ___ who took office on 1 January 2007. His first term will expire on 31 December 2011, and he will be eligible for reappointment
    ………………………….. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secretary-General_of_the_United_Nations

—In the early 1960s, Soviet ruler Nikita Khrushchev led an effort to abolish the Secretary-General position. The numerical superiority of the Western powers combined with the one state, one vote system meant that the Secretary-General would come from one of them, and would typically be sympathetic towards the West. Khrushchev advanced a proposal to replace the Secretary-General with a three-person leading council (a “troika”): one member from the West, one from the Communist states, and one from the Non-Aligned powers. This idea failed because the neutral powers failed to back the Soviet proposal.

    Italian Bank Robbery

*A hooded armed robber bursts into the Bank of Italy and forces the
tellers to load a sack full of cash.

On his way out the door with the loot, one brave Italian customer grabs
the hood and pulls it off revealing the robber’s face.

The robber shoots the guy in the head without hesitation! He then looks
around the bank to see if anyone else has seen him.

One of the tellers is looking straight at him. The robber walks over
and calmly shoots him in the head.

Everyone by now is very scared and looking down at the floor.

“Dida anyone elsa see a my face?” calls the robber.

  • http://wired.reddit.com/sexygeeks_2008/?s=top pedanticKarl

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/CantwrCymreig Evan Owen

    Hi pK,

I’m trying to remember something in German. Is gemeinschaft the name for the hole in the ground that leads to the ore?

  • http://wired.reddit.com/sexygeeks_2008/?s=top pedanticKarl

Evan, where do I begin? This is trivial non-issue, out of context, non sequitur, slap me on the head kind of stuff.
The following questions are meant to be NOT answered by you. The questions indicate my thought process. I know and realize that you are not a techie, which makes you a victim in this case, or not.
I’m going to assume that you are unaware of a lot of stuff, or else you wouldn’t be posting your comment, or you would be more specific.

Again, DO NOT ANSWER my questions. This is just thinking out loud.
First, look at the link’s last element, “v5dicerigger.exe”
Do you know what that is? If not, why are you even there?
That is a Windows executable program to be downloaded to your PC. It is a Dice Rigger program version 5 in order to beat the casino dice games or any dice games.

Second, notice that the EXE file is in an UPLOADS folder. Yeah, so. That’s what people do. They upload files to upload folders. So, someone uploaded a file. So what. Maybe it’s infected, maybe not. Maybe it’s infected with Adware, maybe not.

Was your intentions to download a Dice Rigger? If so, then Norton says it may be infected. So what? Don’t download it.
If your intentions was not to download or even find a Dice Rigger program, how did you find it? By accident? So what. You’re on the wrong page. So what you got a Virus notification. If you’re on the wrong page, then move on with life.

Sooooo, to correct your first statement at comment 12.1.1.1.2 down below. (April 11, 2010 at 2:48 am)

    Evan said:
“Norton says that the weebly.com site is infected with a virus. “

Wrong. Weebly is NOT infected. Weebly is storing a user’s file that may or not be infected in one of their folder. Yeah, so?

On this HFW site, people can upload photo images and they can view them, right? OK, no big deal. What if Marina allowed ANY file to be uploaded, like Windows EXE files. Anyone could then look at them and download them, right? Well, if you are running Norton like you are, it would go off all day long. Yeah? So? That’s what Norton does. Image files are benign. EXE files are potentially dangerous depending on who monkeyed with them.

One of my rules is to never download any executable file (EXE, BAT, COM, etc, etc) from any site, ever!!!. I only download from reputable sites (e.g. Mozilla) and then, I manually check the file after download.

This one is so true it is SCARY

George Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell. While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.

Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check

Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so she writes him a check.

Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.

When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush got to call the USA so cheaply.

The devil smiles and replies: “Since Obama took over, the country has gone to hell, so it’s a local call.”

For future reference, if you want to post a link that might be suspect, post the link as text and not as clickable. In other words write the link without the http: stuff and put it in quotes like this. That way people won’t click on it. Someone can still highlight the text and go to the link, but that takes extra effort and consciousness.

Gee I’m playing catch up on the lessons. :|

I met the secretary of the Navy (John Lehman http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lehman) back in the late 80′s. We just kind of hung out on the decks of the USS Missouri and talked. It was very interesting to talk to someone that high up in command like two regular guys enjoying the sights and riding on a 880 foot boat. Ok it’s a ship! I always called it a boat.

The I’m a good friend of Ron Sims ( Deputy Secretary for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development http://portal.hud.gov/portal/page/portal/HUD/about/principal_staff/deputy_secretary_sims ) You’ll find we twitter each other from time to time. He loves to tweet about techie things like green cars and sources of green energy. Interesting factoid, is I use to do security patrols for his office in the Columbia tower. Which is the tallest building in Seattle, Wa.

I have been using Opera for about 2 years now. In fact I still use it for some sites that don’t work in Firefox and Safari. Opera lite for internet enabled cellphones is awesome. It can take a slow data connection and make it fly. It’s a speedly little program for cellphones.

I have some issues with FF for sometimes buttons will not be click able or some pages not show some parts. So I open Opera and it normally can properly display any page. Though I have way too many pluggins in FF to leave. My version of FF is nearly completely different from the original download.

I used to sell signs similar to what you made. It was a nice gig until the company folded. This was long before the recession.

I also work for a company called Fast Signs. I use to make those big banners you see around town.

I haven’t been in her videos for we were 1,200 miles apart. Now that’s no longer an issue. ;)

I’m happy you like it. Many of us regulars are like family here. Which makes the blog a great place to visit. I hope you become a regular too. ;)

So, you & Marina might explain the rest of the world, why two of you hate it!

i’m curious to know where this term originated and when it started to really take affect.

Civilian control of our military is a halmark. And it’s accepted.

  • wetsuit5

Because after Bush II our credibility and inteligence is laughable. But our weapons are respected.
As long as we coordinate the arms.

  • http://www.tony-bernhoffer-photography.com tonyb

You said on your Carson Daily interview that you found intelligence sexy and that your mom and dad worked on the Russian H-bomb. when I went to grad school in 1984 I was in a special topics course in physical chem 987 but I did not make it to the midterm. They used the textbook QUANTUM MECHANICS by Schiff. Gave up just befoe the midterm. But the ladies of Toledo do not respect intlelligence but only money. this is another reason why communism and socialism seem appealing to me. My poor mom only has an eighth grade education and I blamed it on her hard times lin Kentucky growing up in the Depression. But she seems to think she is humoring a lunatic when I say things to her about the Bible and I have those nine small chrisian ebooks on Amazon’s Kindle. But she likes my playing the guitar. My theology must be too complaex for mom. they gave me a telephone recruiting call for Dallas Theological Seminary in 1990. That is a smart people’s school. I also did not think I would fit in with Texas,
My grad school interests back then were in solar energy, photovoltaics and nanosecond pulsed laser spectroscopy. they called it Raman or Resonance Raman Spectroscopy. the fags in chemistry that harassed me angered me into leaving the field. More to life than science. I didnot have an Einstein poster in my bedroom and I was really into rock and roll in high school., Going out with girls and rock music were inopritant then. but I only played the folk guitar then as I do now.

it’s very hart to though, when Iluv2cutfarts makes it living nightmare for me.

He flips me off and does crap to me so much that it’s even hard to like this website

I hate his guts and so do other people

  • iluv2cutfarts

I was one of those “new people” that Karl was talking about, who encountered this site when I saw you blasting away with your gibberish out here at Karl and rosiecheeks, not all that long ago. You were nothing but a rude little troll who tossed around slurs about his own race like it was rice at a wedding.

Now you get it back from me for your comments about Vets from all foreign wars that Americans have fought in. I’ll be all over you every chance I get for that. And as for your take about others not liking me – HAHA! I couldn’t care less what YOU think!

P.S. Glad to know my online personality is too much for you. I’ll be glad to see you leave. You really should be doing homework anyways…You might actually learn something one of these days.

  • http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack

Simple….Well…. Let me get back to you on that.

  • kolia

    I am all attention!

  • http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack

You got that right! I was embarrass to be an American because of him and his cronies. Now with Obama in the seat, I feel much better.

  • http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack

Your right, treatment is a failure. A.D.H.D. and A.D.D. are rampant in today’s society. I don’t believe it’s really a disorder but an evolutionary step of mankind. There are some that have been able to make success with it. The key is how to harness or better yet, exploit this condition.

  • http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack

So I came up with this really simple explanation about it, but I really need more time. How about April 1st, 2011 sound to you?

  • http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack

Rosie, I know for a fact it take Marina a lot of time to make these videos. First off she has to pick a few words and see if there is anything remotely interesting about the words. Then from that she makes her list of words that she plans to do a video on. But before the video is even started she does a lot of reading to get all the information she needs to do that word. She doesn’t put out BS, she really does her homework. Once she has all the data then she has to think up how she plans to do the video. Well after 500 videos, you tend to get low on ideas. After the shoot then she has to go edit the video then upload it. Editing take longer than the shoot. She used to do about 2 or 3 videos a week and she would spend 16 hour days doing this. Now she is doing longer videos and putting 2 out a week or so. Along with all this she is out networking and working on other projects that you have seen.

Does that give you a clearer picture of what goes on in the background?

  • http://youtube.com/jamesingtonthethird James

LOL!! Sounds like Gogol Bordello ! Brill.

  • http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack

I’ve gotten those before and I use Firefox. It could be a server side issue with Amazon. Images are stored on other servers to help speed up the page loads. When you get 100s of thousands of hits a week, its hard for any server to keep up. Marina has employed 100s of boxes to serve her website. The traffic here is unbelievable.

Also to speed up the internet, many browsers don’t completely refresh the graphics. They just take what’s out of the cache. Even after you click on refresh. Sometimes opening up a new page will fix it.

I’ll make a note of it and when I get a chance I’ll ask Marina if she might know what could be the cause of it.

The best way to handle trolls is to ignore them. If you say anything to them then they win for they got your attention. In time they will give up and go bother someone else or go find a new hobby. You can always email me on the contact page if you want to discuss something in private. I’m always here to help.

  • wordreet

Well in Quebec, green people are ignorant beginners!

  • wordreet

I didn’t realize that ten year old racists were allowed on here.

  • iluv2cutfarts

Does this mean that she doesn’t give much consideration to the Word Requests out here?

  • http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack

Yes she does! It’s just some words really don’t have any good back story. Which is surprising for on some of them you think there would be.

Back in the day she used to make a video mentioning the student that requested the word. But every time she does that, there is always someone who didn’t get mentioned.

She also picks words that are very popular in the news or blogs. She tends to get a lot more comments when she does this, which create more excitement.

  • iluv2cutfarts

This blows! I can’t find any exciting [fart] news except for random articles from Harvard and Eddie Murphy movies. It’s enough to make someone go eat beans and cabbage for a month straight.

  • deluxenn

May I put my two cents?
Of course, I’m not a genius and Rosie did not say it literally.
However, my mom always called me “genius” when I had “F” in school.
I love this place and respect each user because everyone makes it interesting. :!:
I do not want to argue about whose pencil  is longer
if Marina does not ask about it.
Anyway thanks Rossi for genius (my Dark side  thinks the same) glad to be useful.

  • kolia

It’s sounds for me, that you, unfortunately, do not have an answer.

  • http://www.hotforwords.com/category/ta/ Captain Jack

I have a question for you, since you might be an expert at this subject. Why do men think farts are funny?

I crack up when I hear a good one that has a bit of humor with it. Soon afterwords, I start to doubt myself of why I found that funny.

  • iluv2cutfarts

hehehehe…You know – that is the age old question, isn’t it? What’s so funny about a fart? Could it have something to do with today’s society, and people who think that they are so important? I find it beyond funny when a stuffer ol’ fart or someone who thinks that they are all that, lets one fly. It makes me roar with delight!

My latest adventure saw me getting onto an elevator, but prior to entry – a lone woman came walking out, waving her hand in front of her face and going “whew!” I was like – huh? Then I got in – and I knew why! She cut the cheese and tried to play it off! Want to know the funniest part? I was headed for the 5th floor, coming up from the 1st, and had additional company on my way up. The stink hadn’t left yet – they were all nice and chatted getting in, but became mysteriously silent upon entry! I just shook my head upon getting out, and thought to myself “I get in trouble even when I don’t do anything wrong”. Stinky girl! She dropped a bad one too!

Then again it might just prove that God has a really funny sense of humor.

    ;-)

  • http://www.hotforwords.com/category/ta/ Captain Jack

But I do! It’s really awesome. But I fear that you would not get it for you didn’t get the last joke. ;-) I was trying to procrastinate.

  • http://www.hotforwords.com/category/ta/ Captain Jack

OMG thats funny!!!! Good story!! I can’t recall if that ever happened to me yet. I’m sure it has though. I might have been in deep thought and not aware.

You must investigate why we laugh at farts.

  • iluv2cutfarts

Too bad this is too stinky of a topic for Marina at the moment, but like Karl would say – never say never when it comes to Marina and words/phrases!

On a side note – one of my Grandpa’s who was so serious that he had no smile on his face ever, would split in 2 upon someone passing wind. Go figure.

  • http://www.hotforwords.com/category/ta/ Captain Jack

Yeah, sometimes Marina surprises us with what she does. Hey it keeps things interesting.

Hum that’s interesting. You see there is something powerful enough to make even a serious person bust up laughing from someone breaking wind. It must be some sort of neanderthal instinct.

  • doncross2bear

Yeah, guys, I had an introductory interview Wednesday with Sport Graphics, Inc, a huge manufacturer of huge banners and graphics nationwide. The humongous digital images that hang from tall buildings and the like. BTW those are installed by rappelling from the roof. Whee. Going back in a couple days.
    dc

  • http://www.hotforwords.com/category/ta/ Captain Jack

Whoo hoo! I hope you get the job. It sounds like you might have a lot of fun at that job. Repelling off a roof to install a monster banner sounds like fun. Though I have a close respect for heights.

Hey, if you get the job let me know. I would like to find out if they could print on a sail for a sailboat. Not sure if the paint would adhere to Dacron.

  • iluv2cutfarts

Yeah – either that, or just a really sick sense of humor.

    ;-)

Don’t fear, you’re captain! What the crew will think & feel, if they see you in fear!
    THERE IS NOT FEAR!

Fear comes from lack of knowledge. The only thing I think I fear is gambling. If I were to bet a million dollars that Mt Rainer would still be there in the morning, Knowing my luck, it would blow that morning. I guess I better now bet on that with the activity that’s been going on lately. Besides, I don’t have a million bucks…..yet!

  • beevee14

Typical liberal response. Its funny, just a few short years you and your kind were saying that dissent was the highest form of patriotism(it is). I guess its different when the shoe is on the other foot, huh? Instead of making inane comments on here, why don’t you write the White House and ask your buddy there why he can’t do ANYTHING he pledged to do on the campaign trail.

QUESTION: Did you vote for BHO? If so, don’t you feel a sense of extreme let down from the lies?

Or maybe your to stupid to realize that the light at the end of the tunnel is just another train!

Here is some more for ya:

    >
    >
    > This venerable and much honored WW II vet is well known in Hawaii for his seventy-plus years of service to patriotic organizations and causes all over the country. A humble man without a political bone in his body, he has never spoken out before about a government official, until now. He dictated this letter to a friend, signed it, and mailed it to the president.
    >
    >
    > Dear President Obama,
    >
    > My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don’t believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.
    > I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos’n Mate. Now I live in a “rest home” located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.
    >
    > One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man. So here goes.
    >
    > I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.
    >
    > I can’t figure out what country you are the president of. You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:
    >
    > “We’re no longer a Christian nation,”
    > “America is arrogant” (Your wife even announced to the world, “America is mean-spirited. ” Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)
    >
    > I’d say shame on the both of you, but I don’t think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.
    >
    > After 9/11 you said, ” America hasn’t lived up to her ideals.” Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn’t mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WW II, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.
    >
    > I don’t think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.
    >
    > Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man. Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don’t, I’ll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue . You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.
    >
    > And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don’t want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don’t mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don’t want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.
    >
    > One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you’re the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you’re not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you’re thinking of.
    >
    > You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president. You’re not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That’s not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.
    >
    > And I sure as hell don’t want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle…
    >
    > Sincerely,
    > Harold B. Estes

    Hahahahahahahah!
That’s a very sad and overly verbose reply. Also ignorant, but that’s not necessarily your fault. Poor education never is the fault of it’s recipient. You simply failed to acquire knowledge of my whereabouts. Ah, so it is you fault.
I have zero friends in the Whitehouse, in fact I’m not much in the habit of liking Americans at all. Perhaps my buddy Barak can change that.
Oh yes, I normally vote Labour, so I’m a socialist.
    Getting the picture yet?
