    ————————————————————————
ATTENTION to those who are having problems
filling out the form for a date with Marina

    Ref: BODY TYPE field
    ————————————————————————
Several times now, over several days, I have tested the form
with MSIE and FF and it works fine. This morning, I helped a
friend fill out the form and it worked.

Here is a screen shot of part of the form that I just tested a few minutes ago. http://i47.tinypic.com/dvr1mp.jpg

Why is mine working and many of you are having problems?
    1. When you first visit the form and IF you ONLY look at the BODY TYPE field, you will NOT see any pull down data. My presumption is that prior fields need to be filled in.

    2. If you are filling in the fields correctly (required) top to bottom, then the BODY field does work.

    3. If you are doing it correctly and you are still having problems, turn off any pop up blockers or Ad removal programs.

    4. If after that you are having problems, let me know.

  • http://wired.reddit.com/sexygeeks_2008/?s=top pedanticKarl

    P.S.
In FF you may also need to turn OFF any or ALL ADD-ONs.

I think it was capman911 that confirmed that some ADD-ONs, when he disabled them helped a particular problem that he was having.

Think The Beatles – Roll Over Beethoven The Festival Hall, Melbourne, 06/17/1964 ………………. and then—The beet (Beta vulgaris) is a plant in the amaranth family. It is best known in its numerous cultivated varieties, the most well known of which is probably the red root vegetable known as the beetroot or garden beet. However, other cultivated varieties include the leaf vegetables chard and spinach beet, as well as the root vegetables sugar beet, which is important in the production of table sugar, and mangelwurzel, which is a fodder crop. Three subspecies are typically recognised. All cultivated varieties fall into the subspecies Beta vulgaris subsp. vulgaris, while Beta vulgaris subsp. maritima, commonly known as the sea beet, is the wild ancestor of these and is found throughout the Mediterranean, the Atlantic coast of Europe, the Near East, and India. A second wild subspecies, Beta vulgaris subsp. adanensis, occurs from Greece to Syria.—sourced wiki

Hey Marina I was wondering why do people say [I call Shotgun!] whenever they want to sit at the front passenger seat of the car?
    Peace

  • Alex

In the time when settlers were heading west for land bandits would try to rob them. The wagon driver therefore would have a man with a shotgun sit next to him while he is driving to fend of bandits. The spot next the driver became known as “shotgun”.

    P.P.S
The BODY TYPE field selection is determined by the gender you select in the first question of the form where it says:
    I am: {Select orientation}

If you do not fill out this field first, then the Body Type field will not have any pull down selections.

In the first field, if you state that you are a “man…”, then the Body Type field will select the answers you see in my screen shot.

If you select that you are a “woman…”, then the Body Type selections are Petite, Slim, Athletic, Average, Curvy and so on.

This video uses a split skirt technique. Very magical highlight.

  • http://wired.reddit.com/sexygeeks_2008/?s=top pedanticKarl

Since “beating around the bush” is an idiomatic expression, I suppose that the choice of words, tone of voice and context of the conversation would contribute to how tactful or subtle the expression is.

I suppose, under certain circumstance, the idiomatic expression could even be considered as being sarcastic. For example, in the video above, the repeated beating around the bush by the waiter, could be construed as being loosely sarcastic, inferring that the customer was a fat pig.

  • http://youtube.com/jamesingtonthethird James

    FUCKING WHORE!! HAHA!!

  • http://www.GoForThisWorld.com Hs4Mm

I haven’t worked out my thoughts yet, but my inkling, in exaggerated terms, is that in “beating around the bush” one never gets to the point — one says all sorts of things but never the point one wants to make — but one can be tactful or subtle in a pithy, terse manner, making one’s point immediately in a few words.

Also, if one is not good at using words and at interacting with people, one’s attempt at being tactful or subtle might end up being an instance of beating around the bush. This is for situations where a point that is likely to have a negative impact for the recipient needs to be made; in other situations, being tactful would involve avoiding a subject that is likely to have a negative impact for the recipient (like not emphasizing some positive event involving your parents while at an hospital with a person who has just lost both parents in an accident).

I doubt one can beat around the bush tersely, but perhaps someone can come up with an example of beating around the bush that’s terse?

What are the different ways of telling someone one they have some food stuck between their teeth?

  • http://youtube.com/jamesingtonthethird James

I have asked this before but seriously
    [dead ringer]

  • http://www.GoForThisWorld.com Hs4Mm

Ran out of time for the last para above: some possible ways: just blurt it out so that everyone at the restaurant, even those who had not noticed it before, comes to know about it; let only the person know discretely as soon as it is possible to do so; keep beating around the bush so that everyone at the restaurant ends up looking at you wondering what the heck you are trying to say.

  • http://youtube.com/jamesingtonthethird James

  • seesixcm6

    Dear Marina,
I noticed you rerplaced the small guitar on your nightstand with a stack of baseball caps. You did many nice characters, by using wigs, costumes, hats, and other props in this video, to create a variety of different characters. What a good actress!.
I beat around the bush every time I post to you. Instead of saying, “I want to hear you scream loudly while I make beautiful coitus with you”, I instead make a word request for [scream] and note it’s origins in Middle English.
Now, I’m packing for my road trip to Riverside. The rains have already started, and I think I’ll be driving the Caslifornia “Monsoon of 2010.” I hope to be back home in one week!

Hmmm, maybe weird stuff happening on FB or browser cache/cookies issues?

  • http://wired.reddit.com/sexygeeks_2008/?s=top pedanticKarl

P.S. Just some thinking out loud rumination:
Since most if not all browser actions are JavaScript based, then any issues with browser actions wold be some kind of JavaScript interference or conflict. Also, many of the new browser techniques use Ajax, so there is another level of complexity.

If there are other browser pages (Tabs / Windows) are running, it is possible that they can interfere. The other day I had trouble with a particular web site filling out a form, and I noticed that I had another form on another site open. After closing that, Everything worked. So, one of the things I do when I have issues is to close down other browser windows.

Sometimes if I need to have two websites up and I think there is a conflict, I use a second browser like SeaMonkey.

[surrender] [concert] with the meaning as used in this forum comment.

    Here’s a definition of concert

2.a) Agreement in purpose, feeling, or action.

2.b) Unity achieved by mutual communication of views, ideas, and opinions: acted in concert on the issue.

2.c) Concerted action: “One feels between them an accumulation of gentleness and strength, a concert of energies” (Vanity Fair).

I could not find any good definition for sexual surrender; the best was “5. To give over or resign (oneself) to something, as to an emotion: surrendered himself to grief.”

(Definitions from American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language.

I saw this forum, asked the other person that lives here, and she said, “For a man who can handle just about everything, you can’t make a phone call for nothin’!”
Evidently, I am a complete wimp when it comes to calling doctors, work, stores or basically anybody in a position of authority. Thinking about it I realized it was true and thought it extremely funny. I always say, “Women have better luck in situations like this” and I stand on it! She said she has known other men like this so, how about it fellas? Ask that other person. Maybe you can have a little humor, too!

I would like to know where the word [BRAVO} came from, like at the end of a great performance when people chant "Excellent performance, [BRAVO], encore, encore”. I know from my experience as a musician that it might have been derived from the Italian “bravissimo”.

Where did the phrase [tongue in cheek] originate?

  • bcchief

Dear Teacher; since you have spent so much time on boats on your vacation to Nice, I would like to request the word (forecastle). Where did it come from? Why is it pronounced so strangely? Do all boats have one?

  • http://vkontakte.ru/id25408688 leonard

Lady of the[harbor] A harbor or harbour (see spelling differences), or haven, is a place where ships may shelter from the weather or are stored. Harbors can be man-made or natural. A man-made harbor will have sea walls or breakwaters and may require dredging. A natural harbor is surrounded on most sides by land.

Harbors and ports are often confused. A port is a man-made coastal or riverine facility where boats and ships can load and unload. It may consist of quays, wharfs, jetties, piers and slipways with cranes or ramps. A port may have magazine buildings or warehouses for storage of goods and a transport system, such as railway, road transport or pipeline transport facilities for relaying goods inland.

I second that request: bcchief !

    good day :!:

  • http://vkontakte.ru/id25408688 leonard

I now know to be careful with visting a “bush”(urinate): Marina just might be bird hunting!

sourced from the [information-hi-way] or [troll-waves]…The word comes from the Old English hwearf, meaning “bank” or “shore”, and its plural is either wharfs, or, especially in American English, wharves; collectively a group of these is referred to as a wharfing or wharfage. “Wharfage” also refers to a fee ports impose on ships against the amount of cargo handled there.

In the northeast and east of England the term [staithe or staith] (from the Norse for landing stage) is also used. For example Dunston Staiths in Gateshead and Brancaster Staithe in Norfolk. Though the term staithe may be used to refer only to loading chutes or ramps used for bulk commodities like coal in loading ships and barges. It has been suggested that wharf actually is an acronym for ware-house at river front  but this is a backronym, spread around as a fact by “tour guides” on Thames river boats.

Another explanation may be that the word wharf-[WAIF] comes, like a lot of naval terms, from the dutch word “werf” which means ‘yard’, an outdoor place where work is done, like a shipyard or a lumberyard.

    [wag]…[wager]…[wad]

HAY–marshmellowman…A sickle is a hand-held agricultural tool with a curved blade typically used for harvesting grain crop or cutting grass for hay… so don’t [hammer] me down  Hacking around the bush…Using a scythe is called mowing, or often scything, to distinguish it from mowing with more complex machinery. Mowing is done by holding the top handle in the left hand and the central one in the right, with the arms straight, the blade parallel to the ground and very close to it, and the body twisted to the right. The body is then twisted steadily to the left, moving the scythe blade along its length in a long arc from right to left, ending in front of the mower, thus depositing the cut grass to the left. Mowing proceeds with a steady rhythm, stopping at frequent intervals to sharpen the blade. The correct technique has a slicing action on the grass, cutting a narrow strip with each stroke – a common beginner’s error is to chop or hack at the grass, with the blade length at right angles to it, thus trying to cut too wide a strip of grass at once. This is much harder work, and is ineffective. Cutting too close to the ground can contaminate the blade with soil, rapidly blunting it. Much of the skill is in keeping the blade close to the ground and the cuts even. make hay when the sun shines and burn coal and oil when the sun don’t shine as the globe turns ;-) PS—I hope Marina handles that “hay-maker” an old~farmer j(y)oke

I was reading on ‘cat o’ nine tails’ in Wiki when I came across [Rubbing Salt Into His Wounds]. This led me to other salt idioms/expressions/superstitions which may (or may not) have interesting etymologies:

[salt of the earth, worth one's salt, salt something away, take something with a grain of salt, spilling salt is bad luck, throwing salt over one's shoulder], etc. . . Perhaps [salt] itself would be a good word to etymologize since it is used in so many common and uncommon expressions.

Marina, that’s the necktie from your plaid “naughty schoolgirl” outfit. Do you have only one necktie? I am sure that we guys have TONS of old neckties we would be delighted to send you if you want to build up your prop dept. (Maybe, if you get too many, you could start tacking them to your ceiling like they do in some restaurants where ties are forbidden and they cut them off the patrons and tack them up.)

Wow! Misscupcake is a hottie. That’s a pleasant discovery.

I wonder what is the name of the technique of cutting off the video/audio just as a vulgarism is about to be spoken (but not so quickly that the audience can’t recognize it)? Or does it even have a name? It is done so often that it must have a name.
