Marina (& other Russians),

How easy is it for you to read Bulgarian and get the main idea of what is being said? I get the impression it's like knowing Spanish and trying to read Portuguese: a lot of the words are unfamiliar, but one gets the main ideas. :???: :?:

I had the rare privilege of being in Koprivshtitsa, Bulgaria for the August 1991 Narodni Subor (Bulgarian for "National Folk Festival.") Against the backdrop of traditional music and dance, colorful costumes and hordes of visitors from around the world, the CDC, or Union of Democratic Forces, was organizing for the elections that drove the Communists from power that fall. Bulgarian citizens spoke openly with foreigners about the changes sweeping their country, talk that would have had them arrested two years earlier.

Heady times -- leading to where Bulgaria is today: a country proud of its rich, distinct cultural heritage, and exhuberantly joining the world at large.

More Bulgarian humor:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHXxANAgcVs" rel="nofollow">Hewlett Packard Support Center, Koprivshtitsa</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ_u4QuiZxA" rel="nofollow">Bulgaria vs Europe</a>
(OK, it helps if you can read Kyrillic.)

It's a well written article with a few flairs of addition insight here and there but these single page interview "/slash" articles haven't really offered me anything new that I haven't already read before.

Dear Marina,
Congratulations on the article in a Bulgarian website. You truly are an international star! There have been many articles in Russia, China, Germany, and many other foreign countries. Also, many of your subscribers are from foreign countries, such as England, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, and other places. Because you do most of your videos in English, I think you will help make English the universal language on YouTube and in international relations.
I also like that you speak English in different accents. I enjoyed your English accent in your "Limey" video, the used car salesman in you "Oleaginous" video, and you even did a Thai accent, there! You probably could make us laugh if you spoke English in a thick, Russian accent, like Boris and Natasha, but you probably could do a "Valley Girl" accent even better!
Thank you for making the world a better place with all your videos!
