Google sees YouTube profitable in near future

youtube-profitable-582x258

Google feels that YouTube will be profitable in the near future.  After everyone predicting YouTube’s demise and the fact that it costs so much money to run the site, it appears that YouTube has finally gotten a handle on generating revenue.

Google said they are “monetizing billions of views of partner videos every month.” Partner videos? Hey, that’s me!  I account for .00001% of those views!!  Actually.. I might be closer to .1% of those views… is there a mathematician in the house?
Here is the article about YouTube.

what they want out of life.”

To prompt young girls into deeper thinking, McKellar has written a book entitled “Math Doesn’t Suck.” Thanks, Danica.

The book includes teen-magazine crapola like personality quizzes, horoscopes and picures of hot mathematicians. Hot mathematicians? Ohhh la la.

Want to check out other hot girls who may or may not think math doesn’t suck? Check out the latest Bodog Girls!
Good Work Marina! and they who is that? :?:

PS-key Master…I feel with my fingers!

I think its all rubbish… Hardly anyone clicks ads anyway when they are about weight loss and pills etc.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/capman911 Capman911

The only adds I click on are the ones on Marina’s site and her YT site to help with her revenue. Any other site I visit I just watch the video. People talk about you going commercial on your YT site, well you have to, to [ KEEP UP WITH THE JONSES ] or make an income. I don’t see it as you going commercial. I have said all along that you should do some more adds and promote products. This IS your income and full time job, “promoting yourself” so you have to make the best of it. Keep up what makes you happy and famous and we will still ogle at the bikini pictures that you put up. Some of us will still do our Homework and learn.

  • macnewsbuzz

I never click on any adds. On Marina’s case, I don’t think her income is from YouTube, etc, as far as I can guess by her car/shoes/house/etc. She is really smart, even her dogs are cute  .

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/capman911 Capman911

I think in one of her interviews she told us she made about six figures a year from her YT site. It’s the adds and the income YT pays out to their partners for the most watched and rated videos. One guy I watch on YT makes 2500 dollars a month just from showing how stuff works and rebuilds machinery. He showed the check he got from YT on that video. Plus like you said she has other endeavors she makes money from also.

  • http://www.hotforwords.com Marina

We don’t make money from the clicks.. or that amount is SOOO small it doesn’t even figure into the equation.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwO6kIdgVSU PageDoll

If I make a funny video request for the word toast/toasty will you use it?…maybe? :???:

Please say yes, or at least maybe. It’ll do wonders for my motivation and make the video that much better.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwO6kIdgVSU PageDoll

Don’t answer that question!! I’ll just make it and when you laugh out loud any spray your monitor with green tea and a hint of honey shooting out your nose you’ll say, “Daaamn! I gotta use that!”

  • neuroway

I think.. I think… Erm.. What do I think? OMG! I think absolutely nothing!!!

Yeah.. Well… Absolutely positively… Yah I guess… So youtube is profitable again? I am strongly led to believe that this is good news indeed for Google and youtube, and this is bad news for their competitors. Yes, statistically and logically speaking, I don’t think the other way around is possible. I mean, how could this be a bad news for google and a good news for the competition? However, our universe being the wild, indomitable and savage thing it is, we do never know for sure… Pichette just has the right goggles to swim through the video making money and see it coming his way I say.

Having said this, I think I shall drink a pitcher to this one…

  • http://uk.youtube.com/user/jamesingtonthethird James

So now I am confused! If you don’t make money from ads.. Where do you make it?

  • http://uk.youtube.com/user/jamesingtonthethird James

    Don’t we all :???:

    Shame.. We all used to

Youtube is so messed up they don’t even respond to job applications from people who established the econometric basis of a Youtube analog in a 1979 thesis (Laser Radio, describing a video jukebox where consumers offset their consumption with the value of their own production). A later form of the theory was published in 1999 by the University of Amsterdam Center for Nonlinear Dynamics in Economics and Finance.

I’m so bitter I think I’ll show up at Google headquarters while I’m out there in August racing my Porsche at Laguna Seca and I’ll pound on the receptionist’s desk and demand to talk with the only adult who works for Google (Larry Brilliant, president of Google Foundation) Larry used to print my Marilyn Monroe telephone cards! I’ll tell him! “Larry” I’ll say, “if Google isn’t going to hire me- for Youtube or Google Research- to develop my Molecular Economics so it can save the world from a middle class population explosion that will eat Earth resources to death I’ll give it to Jay Walker of Walker Digital/ Priceline! I worked with Jay in 1984 when he was making light sculptures! and I’ll show Google and your languishing stock! Nya Nya Nya!” Larry will laugh. Maybe we can have lunch!

Oh yea, back to Marina. Golly, I’d say that none of my Youtube experience is HotforWords because I view the lessons here, at Mommy’s website, mostly to see her Twitterings (who is celebrity Marina hanging out with now? Angie Bowie just became MY Facebook friend!) I’ve been saying to Marina and her business managers for months, the internet is a niche. Marina is talented enough to go mainstream.

Did anybody in Marina’s “camp” (Gorby maybe?) ever talk to the people at Disney starting up the Boy Network? I’m concerned that Marina’s management and contacts like Go!Piddy have such a vested interest in KEEPING her on the net- their net- that she’ll languish in the tabloids as the “unknown blonde on the yacht, kissing so-and-so on the poop deck” because the mainstream media doesn’t know who she is.

The 2010 calendar should show more sides of Marina- sexy, but more locations and “looks”- so that, along with the book release, it reinforces her mainstream media image as a multi-dimensional educator and personality. To his credit, OReilly “got it”. I was suggesting Marina do “political word” origins in election year… a year ago. I wonder how strong her management sought to get her on local TV in LA, doing quick interviews on the origins of those words? Getting on local LA media will open her up to producers and distributors in SoCal.

I’d put Marina’s current celebrity on par with Kendra Wilkinson of the Playboy Girl Next Door. If you check KW’s web page out there is a link to her talent agency, a small boutique operation which, if it’s good, might be able to devote the time and energy to Mommy’s uniqueness as her new book is released, etc.

I’m so bitter! I wanted to be famous and “do lunch” every day.
That reminds me, Dave the Jeweler wants to have lunch with me today to celebrate my birthday! It’s sunny and nice in Laramie today! Hope it is also wherever you are!

Regarding your link to “mathematician in the house”

    1) Is Danica McKellar “in the house” meaning a subscriber to HotForWords?

    2) That link (http://www.intro4u2u.com/2007/07/danica-mckellar/) is not working at the time of this writing — it sends one to http://www.intro2u.net/airline/route.htm ! Even just http://www.intro4u2u.com ends up going there!

    3) Google has cached two versions of the original article: http://bit.ly/4IFbr and http://bit.ly/CqVDj

    4) The article on Danica McKellar is from 2007, and you tweeted a link to a 1985 article (http://twitter.com/hotforwords/statuses/2700445905) — how did you find these old articles? Had you read the Danica McKellar article when it first came out, and recalled it for this post? Is the 1985 article being currently cited on the web because of Michael Jackson’s death?

    5) Did the “lawyers or whoever” find the Danica McKellar article (with its line: “Danica said that ‘want to tell girls that cute and dumb isn’t as good as cute and smart,’”) when they did a search for getting “Intelligence is sexy” trademarked/copyrighted/whatever?
