Oh, I see some good ones for school, too. I bookmarked it for me, also. Thx, m’Lady.

Ah heck! I didn’t even notice that was gone. Good. I didn’t like it anyway. I like the idea that once I press “submit,” it is out of my hands. It makes me think about what I am going to say (believe it or not.)
Which is correct:
(A) Farmers Market
(B) Farmer’s Market
(C) Farmers’ Market

Marina,
Thanks for this. Very interesting. I am somewhat(actually very)surprised HFW overall wasn’t listed, rather than only the NerdWord part of the site, considering the word origin aspect of your creation. Maybe not “sophisticated” enough, huh? Oh, well. Screw ‘em. Love it here, and love you.
Always.

For what it’s worth, I thought the paged comments were fine.

And the way I (attempt to) type I appreciated the ability to quickly edit.

A part of your site, where you don’t present the words in interesting videos, got credited. That’s a breakthrough.

After all the flak you’ve been getting over the Nerd Word now someone goes an encourages you. Go figure

Writing starts with words. Without words, you have no sentences or paragraphs.
Quote from Word of the Day Blogs
Syntax plays a big roll here otherwise you have nothing more than a list. :???:
Seldom do I see anything truly written. Since the things we read are done by the the use of typing… maybe writers should be called typers. Like… “that was a great book… the person is an excellent typer!” hmmm?  :!: :?:

Who was complaining before? People are going to miss the ability to edit their posts…
I remember back in the day when I could see a new lesson on this site – everyday. What happened? Not hungry for it anymore? Makes my job easier; fewer comments being posted.
Marina – you better stay hungry or you ass will get fat

Thanks for the tip Marina. Though I’m a bit intimidated by writers who know how to write. I suck at writing. I’m a bit embarrassed for not knowing how to write well coming out of high school. That said, I’ve been published once. Wait… I think I did a few others. Now that I think about it I have been asked many times to write. Someone offered me $500 bucks once regardless of my writing ability. Hummm…
I think I should take an English class and learn the rules again. Oh wait.. there are no rule.. gggrrrrrrr pith.

To write you don’t need to be grammatically correct this is what editors are for.
http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack
This is the spellcheck police! Your under arrest for failure to check your spelling before hitting that enter button. You have the right to remain off the keyboard. If you need a grammar girl to represent you….. (btw there is a grammar girl on YT and twitter)
LOL!!!

Yeah and the butcher the heck out of my writing and change them up so much I don’t even recognize them anymore. It no longer becomes my thought but some else’s thoughts. Meaning it takes my idea out of contents. I would just rather get it right in my head the first time. What I would like is someone to proof read to make sure I have the -write- spelling of the word for example I used used in this sentence.

I see the Gravatars in the Recent Comments box have black borders now.
I hope no-one died.
I makes them look much better than the same ones in the main comments area.

Edit is off. Oh well, there’s always the Editrix blog: A blog for editors, editors at heart, and anyone else who thinks grammar is hot. Then it reads:
“I Can’t Help but Wonder, Why Is this Foam Hand in My Face?” hmmm, perhaps this could help me with my erotic writing

You missed one!! LOL!

I know what you mean, I once wrote a Letter to the Editor and the editor totally changed its meaning.
This guy had a reputation stirring up controversy because it sold newspapers.
http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack
I….know…what you mean also. My dad used to work at the Yakima Herald Republic Newspaper. All kinds of crazy stuff would happen. But in comparison to other papers the one was mellow.
When writing a letter it’s not really about the content, rather it’s the substance that matters, or… um, just write it and it get it out there :!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JPfnJVEr8E

Hey Captain Jack,
I just posted another kind of graph on the Forum, “Popular…”.
By the way, it is not too late to make comments about what I posted on page 2. As you know, I am deeply committed to this, so I encourage you to make comments about anything from any time. No need to notify me since I monitor that forum all of the time and I’ll see your posts.
I recently augmented my data captures so I am tracking a lot more information and made lots of headway. <– Hmmm, a nautical term.

Hey Captain,
I left a comment on that above site also, just two comments down from yours. I’m always struggling with words and have to keep on top of it to stay in shape. Don’t use it, you lose it, as the saying goes.
http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack
Copy that! Now slowly scrolling down!
Lose what? Oops to late!
[Lose] [Loose] Two words I had to revisit for I forgot which spelling to use.
http://captainjack.ws Captain Jack
NO NO NO! If I write it and get it out it will come back to haunt me for the rest of my life if I make a mistake. Some people are just so … oh whats the word I want to use.? They dig into little insignificant details just to rip that person up. ….
Yeah the video was a bit funny. Just a bit.

Headway? Let me check. Yeap, Headway is movement forward through the water. First attested (as meaning the stem of a vessel) in 1485 in Naval Accounts (Navy Records Society, 1896).
The word ‘Head’ is a bit over used in the maritime world. You have words like heading, head reaching, headrope, masthead, headsail, head sea, headstay, Oh I could go on. Oh one more [Head] as in restroom on a ship.
Now all that said. This is not the origin of the word head. For I see it dates back from the 1420′s. Marina can find out much more about it’s origin where it comes from.
Ok I’ll go take a look thanks for doing such wonderful work.
