    .

I waited over 1 hr 10 min just to give YouTube time to do what it needs to do.

I did not get any email notification.

Then, on the youtube-dot-com page: Subscriptions did show “Several” (also, “view all” showed “Several” in both “New Videos” and “hotforwords”).

However, message-inbox was empty; and friend activity was empty.

Watched the video starting from listing in the youtube-dot-com page’s Subscriptions area. (After watching, “Several” was removed from both youtube-dot-com page’s Subscriptions area and “view all”‘s “New Videos” area; it remains in “view all”‘s “hotforwords” area.)

(HW: It is easier for me to answer what I have one and only one of, Marina.)

    .

    Marina,

“What do you have several of?” is perfectly fine. (Look at the funny counter-examples quoted below before going into the two linked pages. For some people, one would have to say, as the Southern Gentleman did: “What do you have several of, you jerk?”)

This has a good write-up on the issue of ending sentences with a preposition.

This link has the following funny counter-examples:

Southerner stopped a stranger on the Harvard campus and asked, “Could you please tell me where the library is at?” The stranger responded, “Educated people never end their sentences with a preposition.” The overly polite Southerner then apologetically repeated himself: “Could you please tell me where the library is at, you jerk?”

    .

While editing the proof of one of his books, Winston Churchill spotted a sentence that had been clumsily rewritten by the editor to eliminate a preposition at the end. The elder statesman mocked the intention with a comment in the margin: “This is the sort of English up with which I will not put.”

    .

These two anecdotes reflect an intolerance on both sides of the Atlantic for the rule prohibiting sentence-final prepositions. So where did the rule come from, anyway?

    Hi hs4mm,
You beat me to the link about the use of prepositions.

In the past, on this site I have talked about it and have provided either that link or similar ones.

seesixcm6 (at 14.3.4 below) gives examples of re-writing a sentence where the preposition is not at the end.

Of course, as has been said on this site before, when using the formal approach where the preposition is not at the end, the sentence seems more stuffy and has appearances of being more snobish.

Some members were not getting the new video in there subscription boxes on You Tube. Plus she wanted to figure out that if you were getting the new video in your YT subscription box by watching the new video on HFWs site if it would make it go away on the new video you tube site. I found out that when you clicked on Marinas home page on Yt and the video auto starts like it suppose to and you quickly stop it to check the new video page that it counts as a view and it causes the new video to disappear. That might be why some people can’t find the video in their new video page. She just wants to make sure every member is getting the down load in their new video page. If they are not then she was going to check into YT for the problem.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/capman911 Capman911

Marina any little start of your new video from any site “ie” HFWs site, YouTube site, or your Home page on You Tube that auto starts the new video will cancel the video in the new video section of a members site. I found this out by using another log in name and found the new video page and your new video was there. I went to your YourTube HotForWords home page and the video auto started and I immediately stopped the video. I went back to the new video page and the video was gone. So any little bit of video play will delete the video in the new video page. That may be why some people aren’t seeing the new video in their new video page.

    .

    Hello Marina,

Preposition “for”: the following appears toward the end of the “your comment … has a new reply” notice:

Thank you for your commenting on HotForWords.

I think your intent is to thank the person not just for the specific content of the particular comment but for his act of commenting itself. I suspect “your commenting” is not proper usage; I think your intent is communicated by just saying:

{this will suffice to convey your intent of thanking for the act} Thank you for commenting on HotForWords.

or one could be more elaborate and say:

{this is an elaborate way of conveying your intent of thanking for the act} Thank you for your act of commenting on HotForWords.

One would thank a person for a specific comment by saying:

{this conveys a different intent – thanks for a specific comment (rather than thanks for the act of commenting iteself)} Thank you for your comment on HotForWords.

a preposition is not governed by case.
a preposition governs the case of the following noun phrase. this is why the structure of a phrase like “in your head” is [in [your head]]. the preposition (“in”) is the hierarchically highest ranking element in a phrase like that.

    more abstract: [PP [P ][NP [(D) (A) N]]]

    with:
    PP: prepositional phrase,
    P: preposition,
    NP: noun phrase,
    D: determiner,
    A: adjective,
    N: noun.

as for ending sentences with prepositions. if you feel uncomfortable with that, my suggestion is you contemplate this: it’s not a preposition, it’s a postposition.
a postposition is like a preposition with a preceding NP (that it governs).

I love the word Serendipity and Marina has already done the word back in June 2007.

Maybe the word coincidence would be redundant and maybe not. If the word doesn’t have an interesting origin, my life’s serendipitous moments sure do.

[Coincidence] is the noteworthy alignment of two or more events or circumstances without obvious causal connection.

Hi errin, a lot of us, including me and even Marina thought Twitter was a bunch of malarkey. Marina gave an interesting comment about Twitter sometime last year on here that reflected your thoughts about Twitter.

I think Twitter, on their pages recommended that you start following people that have similar interests as you have. I think you are in the music production scene and the like. Start following people you admire and follow them.

You can follow a bunch of famous people and news sites like CNN, and other companies. The more you use it, the more you will find you can’t live without it.

Also, if you use mobile wireless devices like the iPhone which I use, I can stay in touch with the the people I follow very quickly while away from home. Micro blogging as it were.

Gotta go. See you on twitter around 8 PM :)

  • errin

My years of experience in the music production scene has taught me this… STAY AWAY FROM PEOPLE IN THE MUSIC PRODUCTION SCENE!!!

Seriously, thanks for the input. It doesn’t look like there are many musicians taking advantage of the Twitter format. I will look into that side of things when I get a chance. Thanks.

Good one errin, had me laffing at that one.

Pick a topic that interests you or that you want to find something more about. Stamp collecting, bowling, OK, OK, bad examples. Anyway, follow people you admire or people in different fields that you want you have an interest in. Give it time. You may get hooked on it – or not.

I’ll be on the iPhone around 8 PM

  • hs4mm

Marina, I thought you wanted to increase the number of clicks referred from external sites into YouTube … so how come the link in the text above does not end with an “&eurl”, perhaps something like:

    {REMOVE SPACES} & eurl = http : / / www hotforwords com

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/capman911 Capman911

I am not a computer whiz what would adding that do to the url she posted?

  • hs4mm

    .

In the present form, YouTube thinks you typed out the string “http blah balh” to see the video. So YouTube will increment the statistics count for the number of views that started without any referral from an external site.

With the &eurl (‘e’ most likely stands for external), YouTube will increment the statistics count for the number of views that started because the viewer was directed to YouTube from an external site, and the url-address of the site that directly caused the viewer to go to YouTube is the stuff that comes after the eurl= part.

Another example: Amazon has a program wherein if a person comes to place an order on an item because of a direct referral from someone else, then that someone else will get paid a percentage of the price of the item.

I am aware of the Amazon program; the description of how the system knows of a “direct” referral is my inference. The remarks I make about the statistics counters at YouTube is also an inference — I have not see any YouTube document that spell out any such detail. I would bet a few cents that what I have written above is fairly accurate.

  • galhardofilho64

    Hi Marina,
Why is the word [ounce] abbreviated as [oz]?
    Tks,
    galhardofilho64

  • hs4mm

PS: A long time ago, Marina had written that more the number of direct hits (meaning having things the way it is now) the better. But in the past few days, Pedantic’s analysis seemed to imply that the ratio of direct to referred hits must be high — this led Marina to request recently (yesterday?) that we visit YouTube from here. Also, for some unspecified reason, Captain Jack disagreed that increasing the number of referred hits was a good idea.

Bottom line: to count as a direct hit, leave things as is; to count as a referred hit, add the &eurl part. Also, to be safe and avoid any YouTube counting bugs, the &eurl part might need to end with / (the way the url shows up when one double clicks on the video).

    .

Fundamentally, it is up to Google to come up with the right algorithm that reflects what really is “popular” and what really is “most viewed”. If Google makes a mistake in their algorithm and starts reporting meaningless videos as being “popular” and/or “most viewed” then the proper thing to do is to point out the error to Google; it would be wrong to blindly accept whatever algorithm Google adapts and attempt to score on that algorithm.

Moreover, I know for sure (a 100% sure – not as an inference, but as a fact) that Google frequently (e.g., about every 4 months) changes the algorithm that governs what is shown to the user at their main search site (www.google.com). So it is likely that Google will keep tweaking the algorithm used at YouTube to report “popular” and “most viewed”. This would mean that it is more important to give feedback to Google that shows that their algorithm is outputting crap (or is outputting the gold-standard) than it is to blindly try to this and that to score high on the existing algorithm.

Getting Google to invent the correct algorithm to reflect facts (reflect what is really popular and what is really most-viewed) is a solid, achievable goal. As is getting them to make Most-Viewed the default tab. Trying to blindly adapt to whatever their algorithm is for the current few months is futile and will just make one crazy.

Blindly accepting any algorithm Google puts up and attempt to score on it is bad.

It is primarily Google’s responsibility to invent the right algorithm. And it is in the users’ best interest to give them feedback on how their current algorithm is doing.

Also, the essential focus on making a good product should not be lost in the attempt to get Google to do the right thing.

Well if you look to quantum physics for the answer, I think it would say that all things are several in nature.
    Confusing? Quite, but…
Just take the role of an ultimate observer, and consider the Quantum superposition principle, that implies that any one object or point can exist simultaneously in two or more places at the same time.

My Homework: I have several of everything. And so do you, congratulations!

It’s perfectly understandable if you don’t comprehend this concept right away.
Take me for example, I got into my Engineering Faculty with a 10.0/10 score for the physics admission exam. That would be enough to assume that I would be a good enough candidate for the new physics course that we were going to take up, right?
Actually I sucked so bad at it, that I even failed my first semester of it.
That was due to the fact that quantum physics is so different and special, that if you are bound to the traditional way of interpreting reality, you have a hard time begging to grasp it.

I’ll also give you another example… Think of the Universe, it’s mostly vacuum and matter, right? Now think of matter, it’s composed of atoms, and an atom is composed of electrons and a small nucleus in the middle. There’s really not much matter in there at all, if we think about it this way.

Electrons pop in and out of existence on orbitals, and Heisenberg himself said that atoms are not things, they are tendencies.
What your eyes see as objects, your brain interprets them as possible movements of consciousness. So instead of thinking of objects, you have to think of possibilities, possibilities of consciousness.

Now that we’ve established that consciousness is involved, the individual observers cannot be ignored. Therefore, literally everyone creates their own reality!
It’s all pretty awesome, if you just stop for a moment, to think about it…

  • hs4mm

“It is the opinion of the group assembled for the purpose of determining a probability of the likelihood of the meteorological-related results and outcome for the period encompassing the next working day that the odds of precipitation in the near-term are positive and reasonably expected.”

This can be shorten to a word or two. You know what those words are?

For some reason using one or two words, people have a problem understanding my thinking. Which I understand for the above sentence draws a much better picture of ones thought that can further explain what is going on. For example we know there is a group of people in the decision process. There is mathematics being used. We know that the meteorological prediction is for tomorrow. There is much evidence that the out come will come true…. Yet some people say that the sentence is way to wordy and unnecessary. Give me a freaking break! It’s a catch 22! Here’s what Yahoo! does. Their pages have a “Read Full Article” button. HFW could have a page that brings up the video and just a few of the most recent comments. If user presses the “see all comments” button then he gets to see all the comments.

If it is tricky to figure out how to support Read Full Article using WP, then a short term work-around would be that the “see all comments” button brings up an entire new window that has all the comments. There are likely to be several (lesson word!) work-arounds to implement a “read full article” button within the constraints of WP, hard to discuss this in comments.

  • hs4mm

(Would like to clarify my parenthetical remark: “It would also help if users stopped making inane comments.” First, I do NOT think there should be any restrictions on what users write — it should be left up to the users’ to figure out what is appropriate. Here’s what is unique about HFW: people come to this site will all kinds of backgrounds, experience, and age — there isn’t any “demographic” that is site attracts — it attracts all. HFW is not like a party restricted to toddlers or to teenagers or to retirees or to stamp-collectors, married and in love, divorsing, lonely etc. — it is like a party where all come. This being the case, one would have to tolerate, to some extent, babies crying, kids running around etc.)

Marina once told us that she wanted a free flowing organic atmosphere on this site with out the harsh remarks that occur on the You Tube site. That members were able to do their Homework as so to speak then converse among themselves. The conversations on here at one time got so heated that Flame wars were a daily issue and members were at each others throats. Members were leaving because of this. Marina gave us a piece of her mind and the wars ended. The TAs were formed to help her with some back end work and to keep Flame wars to a minimum. So far the wars have stopped and the conversing among the the members has become more of a viable discussion than a war. As you said there are many countries and different races and ages depicted here, so there are going to be some inane comments made as long as they don’t insult Marina then the TAs step in and ask the commenter to refrain from those types of comments. If the person persists then they are place on moderation until their comment can be evaluated then deleted or allowed to be seen by the members. I know comments that you refer to are stupid and doesn’t make any sense. But that’s the atmosphere Marina wants as she said comment all you want and have fun. I think the over commenting is slowing down the site the reason behind the paging addition. Plus the addition of the forums being added. You know as well as I the more adds and items you ad to a page slows it down just a little bit more. Oh I couldn’t comment directly to your comment about the

Did the main reply (64.1.1) make sense by itself.

Maybe some of the cementers will see your comment on inane comments and hold back on them. Take care and I enjoy your comments as they add knowledge to the site if we would just pay attention. please don't count how may times I used the comment word in that comment.

Cripplint? As in sitting there with one’s mouse hand gnarled up beyond recognition? No, but it is a considerable annoyance, so i always look at them in the one-page format. If WP doesn’t have a user-selectable
one-page format, then there should be two sites, each with the different format, so that the user can choose. By looking at the traffic, M can see whether a significant number of users want paging.

Another way to decrease loading time for only a few users is to have a user-selectable blog that does not use gravatars or other bit-rich items. The text of the blog, even at 56K, shouldn’t take too long to download.

  • CampKohler – Sacramento CA

The trouble with a lot of nicknames is that gender is not made apparent. English requires that one know the gender to properly apply personal pronouns. Why don’t we all modify our nicknames to put a M or F at the end? (Those who are in doubt, can use a question mark.) At least those who do not choose to correctly represent their sex by an appropriate gravatar could try it.

Now there is nothing to say that you can’t lie, but then you will be referred to by the gender you specify. If you are a male and wish to be referred to and thought of as a female, then go for it; it’s on you, not us.

Do you want to try this?

Don’t understand what you are saying. YouTube has paged comments; even pressing the “Veiw all … comments” brings up paged comments.

Also, I don’t think slowness is because of quantity of data — I think slowness is because of the interaction between the web-page server and the hard-drives to retrieve the comments. The more the number of comments, the more transactions that the web-page server has to do with the drivers and the longer it takes to get what needs to be displayed.

That’s a good one Chemikal. I think you can understand what you can’t feel. Of course. Because if you can’t feel it and you can’t understand it, well, obviously you are not able to know that it exists at all, unless someone else that can either understand or feel it tells you about it. Then you need to believe it to acknowledge its existence, or reject it if you choose not to believe.

However, sometimes, you can feel what you can’t understand. And this has nothing to do with believing I think. This has to do with feelings and sensations, and can’t be described in any logical term.

In other words… you can’t understand what is not part of your reality. But sometimes, you can feel it. Or perhaps you can’t. I don’t know. We’re all built and geared differently I guess..

Here’s a site where you can check your system’s security.
    https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
Just click on file sharing, for an analysis.
Here are my results (I removed my port number though, for obvious reasons):

Your Internet port ### does not appear to exist!
One or more ports on this system are operating in FULL STEALTH MODE! Standard Internet behavior requires port connection attempts to be answered with a success or refusal response. Therefore, only an attempt to connect to a nonexistent computer results in no response of either kind. But YOUR computer has DELIBERATELY CHOSEN NOT TO RESPOND (that’s very cool!) which represents advanced computer and port stealthing capabilities. A machine configured in this fashion is well hardened to Internet NetBIOS attack and intrusion.

Unable to connect with NetBIOS to your computer.
All attempts to get any information from your computer have FAILED. (This is very uncommon for a Windows networking-based PC.) Relative to vulnerabilities from Windows networking, this computer appears to be VERY SECURE since it is NOT exposing ANY of its internal NetBIOS networking protocol over the Internet.

1509, from M.Fr. obtus (fem. obtuse), from L. obtusus “blunted, dull,” pp. of obtundere “to beat against, make dull,” from ob “against” + tundere “to beat,” from PIE *(s)tud- “to beat, strike, push, thrust” (cf. L. tudes “hammer,” Skt. tudati “he thrusts”). Sense of “stupid” is first found 1509. The verb obtund (trans.) “to render dead, make dull” has occasionally been used, esp. in medical jargon, since c.1400.

I think it’s cool that you found this solution to speed up load time on your lessons, but there will be some separation.
I mean, you would have to be extra curious(diligent), to find your way back to comments on previous pages, just to see what other people added to the conversation.(not referring to the replies you normally get notified of receiving)
If you balance the pros and cons of the layering, and you decide it’s a good addition, I’m always open to change.
Maybe you can edit the plug in to show just a few comments on the first page, and on the 2nd page, all the rest.
So initial load time for the page decreases, and there won’t be more then 2 pages, at any time.
People that would want to view older comments, would most likely want to view all of them, so you can facilitate that by keeping them in one place. And that place would be Page 2 of your video comments section.
If the plugin has heavy javascript and you might have trouble editing it, send the code over. I’ll be happy to help out, to the full extent of my knowledge, if you like this idea.

1315, from L. originalis, from originem (nom. origo) “beginning, source, birth,” from oriri “to rise” (see orchestra). The first ref. is in original sin “innate depravity of man’s nature,” supposed to be inherited from Adam in consequence of the Fall. The noun, in sense of “original text,” is attested from c.1385, from M.L. originale. Of photographs, films, sound recordings, etc., from 1918. Origin first recorded 1563. I have several kinds of knives in my drawer, with a wide variety of blade alloys. The knife I bought back in 1971 continues to be the knife I would recommend, even though I’ve bought scores of knives since. That would be the Swiss Army Knife, of which there are a few good choices depending on what your needs are. Don’t get too many functions because the heavier & bulkier the knife, the less likely you are to carry it. The mysterious Swiss Army knife blade alloy is easy to sharpen. That is one of the key factors in my choice. And they are quality constructed, and no, they don’t break, or at least they haven’t on me, and I’ve abused them under harsh conditions for decades. When considering buying a knife, a critical variable is the blade alloy, so bookmark this webpage to get a briefing on the different types of alloys. For example, there are 3 main varieties of 440 stainless steel, and if it’s not specified which 440 type it is, it’s the cheapest one and don’t squander your hard earned cash on that knife. Oh yeah, and go to uTube to find out how to sharpen a knife…no kidding, they have some short tutorials there that are golden.

I like the idea of paging the comment to speed up the loading of the site. That said, I have been visiting other locations and loaded HFW and found it to be slow even on very fast internet connections. I’ve visited other WP users like http://perezhilton.com/ site seem to load faster than HFW and he has many more views than HFW. This leads me to believe that your site host is slow. I wonder if there is an online tool one could use to test the speed of a host at different locations (internet providers) to test this out?

I don’t like the paging plug for it also screws up all our old links to other comment here. I just did a twitter link to a comment here and now it has paged links. So if you turn this off it will break.

That’s because the forecast is a general prediction. When it gets closer to the currents day forecast, weather people tend to narrow down the predictions for the areas that they are covering. The hardest place in the US to predict local weather is Puget Sound for we have this convergence zone. This is caused by the the flowing around the Olympic Mountains converging over Puget Sound and smacking into the Cascade Mountain Range. Weather experts love testing out their computer models on this area.

This is also an issue of way to much data and slow super computers not able to process all the data. Also there is micro climates all around us. I’ve seen predictions for rain in Kirkland and watch all the rain clouds go around the city. Not one drop hit the docks. Speaking of data, there is hopes that private weather station will enhance predicting the weather. Most Mariner I know like to use http://www.wunderground.com/ for you can use private weather station. AccuWeather is the worst!

This is the knife I carry every day. It is a tactical weapon designed as a second carry weapon. If someone goes to grab your gun from your holster then you can jam down on your gun with your hand pull this knife and slice and dice the attacker. It is razor sharp and will shave the hair right off of your arm. Great little knife.

    OR
We do not feel what we do know. I think this is extremely prevalent. If I only know one thing, I cannot describe it, because I have nothing to campare it. Even worse, I do not even know that I know it for the same reason. I have used this metaphor often, but it still fits: how can a fish describe water? The fish does not even know the concept of water, because wet just is.

If you think this is just more random jibbering (well, you may be right), but I truly believe this explains alot about us. We can see when this happens culturally. I learn something new from a different culture and think, “Wow! I never even thought of that before.” Now, this new knowledge has many different new interpretations for me. If we expand this thought into spirituality, we can begin to see how little we really do know.

Got the link, thanks. I browsed, but did not immediately spot any fires; with paged comments, it is a pain to go over the comments. When comments were in a single page, I have looked at old lessons and gotten a good idea of the comments very quickly; with paged comments, it is too time consuming and painfully slow for me to get a sense of what went on. Anyway, on the good news side, I have contacted someone who might be able to help me add the “innerHTML based ‘view all comments’” button. He said he can meet with me on Tuesday; will see what happens.

Yeah but what if someone would pay you a million bucks for an accurate weather forecast on December 12th? Might be for a very big outdoor event that will make the producer 14 million dollars. Or if one could predict the next Katrina? There is big money in weather predictions. That said Historic weather is just as important as predicted weather for you can’t predict weather unless you have a good historic data to work from.

After reading Caps comment, I fired off an e-mail to him. He sent me back the updates for his music. He has really worked on it in the last couple weeks. He sent it to me as a wmv, so I do not know how to post it here. If you don’t have the newest yet, you can leave your e-mail at my YT channel, and I will forward it to you. It sounds great!

You might want to keep this one for yourself, though. I assume he will post it as a vid when he is ready. I am pretty sure, though that he would not mind if I forwarded it to you.

We do not feel what we do know?

I don’t agree bsomebody. I am pretty sure you know, for instance, what joy or pain is. You have felt it in the past. Can you describe precisely, scientifically to me what joy is? What pain is? Can you rate it exactly on a feeling-detector scale from 1 to 100? You can’t. You aren’t even sure of how intensely others can feel these things.

Try to explain black and white to a blind man. You can’t. You can feel what black is because you have eyes. The blind mind knows that black exists because you told him. He believes you because somehow he realizes that some other people are not blind. You feel the colours and you know them. The blind man doesn’t feel them, but he know of their existence because he believes you.

I gather YT’s paging has to do with the number of existing comments. As an example, one vid with 2K comments breaks them up into pages with about 500, but lesser comments may not cause the blog to go beyond one page. Perhaps I have been looking only at the latter and never saw any paging and so did not notice that that is the way it works until you mentioned it.

Shitaki are a type of mushroom which contain an amino-acid proven to help in the processing of cholesterol in the liver. As well, shiitake mushrooms appear to many researchers to be cancer fighters. They help the body form antibodies that help fight disease and strengthen the body and contain about one third of the recommended daily intake of selenium, which is an anti-oxidant. Anti-oxidants are necessary in the diet to help neutralize free radicals.

[shiitake] is a kind of Japanese mushroom reputed to have powerful anti-cancer properties. Oh wait, Bob already beat me to it.

Selenium itself is reputedly a cancer fighter, perhaps because of its anti-oxidant properties. Essential to health in minute quantities, selenium is actually more toxic than arsenic in larger doses, so don’t take excessive supplements of it.

If you’re using Firefox, try this:-
    Tools -> Options -> Privacy
In the middle section – Cookies – tick ‘Accept cookies from sites’.
Click the ‘Exceptions’ button. Scroll down and if you see an entry for reddit.com, highlight it and click ‘Remove Site’, then click ‘Close’.
Click the drop-down box beside ‘Keep until:’ and select ‘ask me every time’.
Click ‘OK’ to exit the Options window.
Now go back to the voting site and you should see that the up and down arrows beside Marina and you-know-who are no longer in strong colours, but instead, in pastel shades.
Click Marina’s up arrow and see the number increase.
A pop-up window will appear, saying that the site wants to set a cookie, and giving four options. Click the button that says ‘just for the session’.
Now wait 24 hours, try voting again, and report back to say if successful or not.

    1840-50; intra- + cranial:
    “intra-
a prefix meaning “within,” used in the formation of compound words: intramural.
    Compare intro-.

    Origin:
< LL intrā-, repr. L intrā (adv. and prep.); akin to interior, inter-”

    “cranial
    -adjective
of or pertaining to the cranium or skull.
    Origin:
    1790-1800; crani(um) + -al”

    “-al

a suffix with the general sense “of the kind of, pertaining to, having the form or character of” that named by the stem, occurring in loanwords from Latin (autumnal; natural; pastoral), and productive in English on the Latin model, usually with bases of Latin origin (accidental; seasonal; tribal). Originally, -al1 was restricted to stems not containing an -l- (cf. ar- 1 ); recent lapses in this rule have produced semantically distinct pairs, as familiar and familial.

The documentary wanted to bring out some different views for us to watch. I have issue with one of the interviewees. She is an oblivious fake and yet still featured. I’ve been at her house and have friends that worked there. She is good at herding sheeple.

Yeah that was a bit funny I said Heisenberg was wrong. hehehe . I try to think (wrap my mind around) about what is said and try to see in my mind what works and what doesn’t. I’m now a person that think on my own and not just follow the sheeple and the the herders think for me. It has got me nowhere in life!

My sister and I have some very interesting abilities. People are not open about these abilities for they don’t understand them. What you don’t understand could create fear in people on our abilities. So I don’t disclose our ability’s and just enjoy playing with them. I feel like the characters of the movie “The Incredibles” Where they had to hide their super powers.

Your right! Anyone can be a great thinker as soon as they start thinking. Too many people have fat ass brains. They whine and moan about how their head hurts when they think.

@Captain Jack – If you go back more than 200 years, you will find even more pollution in the air from everybody burning wood and coal. Nothing like today. Oh, by the way, under GW Bush, America had the cleanest air ever measured since they started doing pollution indexes. China is now the worst offender with it’s new found petroleum based industry.
One bad move is to have everyone use mercury vapor fluorescent lights (the twisty kind) which offer both bad color temperature and are a material hazard for landfills. In moderate use, this wouldn’t have been a problem. The government plans to do away with the much safer and less polluting tungsten bulbs. Not to mention that tungsten bulbs are an order of magnitude cheaper to manufacture, making them the most cost efficient dollar value per lumen output over the fluorescents. The longevity claims made about fluorescents isn’t borne out when you look at the real numbers. They don’t even come close to lasting as long as they claim. I betcha China doesn’t change, and they KNOW cheap and efficient when they see it. Maybe they are simply better at math than American economists, hmmm?
Have you noticed that the “experts” are always surprised when the pap they spew doesn’t fly?
