Hi my english 11 Ap class is doing a project on the history of a assigned word which includes the words etymology and use in literature. we each randomly picked a word out of a jar and my word was Temper, i was wondering if you can help me and make this world your choice for your next video. thanks

  13. leesha100185 says:

Hey Marina, my 2 yr old son LOVES you. We watch you every night before we head off to bed. I am currently reading a book which brings up the origin of the word ‘human’. It was suggested that ‘hu’ really stands from ‘hue’ meaning colour, and ‘man’ obv. meaning man. “colour + man” I wanted to know if this was correct or if there is another story behind its origin. I figure this might be of interest to all as we are all human :P Thanks!!

  14. originalistrick says:

I swear, Marina’s last few lessons – Darlin’, you have been HOTTER than hot!!! After watching Hula Hoop I got in a conversation with my wife(my WIFE!) in which instead of saying “lymph nodes” I said “NYMPH LODES” (loads?). Man, I had to laugh at myself. My wife laughed, too, briefly – then she realized I’d been on this site, at which time she became extremely pissy…

    • BillyB says:

      How old is she?
That makes me laugh… my wife’s name is Mary & one of my fears is calling her “Marina”… hasn’t happened yet… be interesting if it does.
As I believe that living in fear of your fears is a paralyzing way to live, let your wife be pissy… she’ll survive a linguistic slipup or two… it’s all about the words is it not?

      • originalistrick says:

Of course! Always! Only the words. That’ s all. Just the words.(My wife doesn’ t buy it either). Oh, she’ 44, but looks like she’s about 12.

  15. Dezdkado says:

    Joke time…

Three Nuns died in a car accident. When they got to the pearly gates, St. Peter informed them that, despite the fact that they were Nuns, they would have to pass one final test to enter Heaven (overcrowding, etc.)

The first Nun stepped up and said, “I am ready for your test”.

St. Peter asked her, “Who were the first people?”

Smiling, she replied confidently, “Adam and Eve!” The gates opened with a flourish. Relieved, the second Nun approached the gates.

St. Peter queried, “Where did Adam and Eve reside?”

Giggling, the second Nun retorted without skipping a beat, “In the Garden of Eden.” She too was admitted with a fanfare.

The third Nun eagerly approached St. Peter and indicated that she too was ready for her “test”. St. Peter, sensing overconfidence, asked, “What were Eve’s first words?”

Stunned and clueless, the third Nun looked at St. Peter and said, “Boy, that’s a hard one.” She too was admitted without delay.

  19. LydSquid says:

So I’m totally hooked on this site now! I think it’s brilliant, which would actually be a cool word to investigate…where does the word “brilliant” come from, and is the origin synonymous with bright lights or smart people?

  20. suprstock says:

do you have to be a moron to post in these comments . or would it help. someone buy me the calendar….thanks

  21. mijj says:

so .. i wonder how M will manage how she comes across in the Fox things.

i think she can do it if she realises they need her more then she needs them.

    • mijj says:

i mean now she’s a New Yorker c’leb: will M manage how she appears with Fox?

.. maybe i’m paranoid .. but i think Fox will try and use M for their own agenda. … and obviously, any agenda of Fox’s will rub against the grain of New Yorker.

    • mijj says:

      lol .. now i read back .. ahem .. maybe it’s time i quite managing M’s affairs.

    • Capman911 says:

I hope your right Mijj. Some of the execs use the old couch method telling a young lady that I can help your career if you do this. I know M has better sense than that. She will work New York her way to suit her. They will be eating out of her hand.

      • mijj says:

i was thinking in terms of M being anxious to please her Fox host .. but really, i think she has the upper hand. She has what Fox wants … Fox in particular doesn’t have what she wants … all they can offer is to spread her name … nothing else .. she offers Fox credibility in areas they dont deserve. – and that’s why she has the upper hand – even though apparently she’s at their beck and call.

    • danielpool says:

IT’S all about money and the cult of personality. IS IT NOT. That’s the way it’s all ways been

      • mijj says:

weeeellllll … i think there’s another layer beyond that.

The money and personality cult is the bottom line that we all see …

but choices are made about particular personalities in particular places making points in particular ways … i think M has a certain credibility (and cult following) that would be useful to Fox (but not to her, in the long run).

there’s no reason why M shouldnt appear on Fox, but she doesnt have to be a willing pawn in their game .. because .. in reality .. it’s the balance between how much they want her because she’s useful to them v. how much she needs them because they spread her name and the wad of cash they give her.

… M’s need for Fox is very low level, whereas Fox’s need for M is much higher level. So, in reality, M has room for manouver with them.

        … i think. :???:

      • mijj says:

“i think M has a certain credibility (and cult following) that would be useful to Fox (but not to her, in the long run).”

        that should read:

i think M has a certain credibility (and cult following) that would be useful to Fox (but Fox would not useful to her in the long run).

    • danielpool says:

 IT’S not what you know it’s who you know. Ether way you are the puppet. Reality is hard to accept at times :?:

      • mijj says:

yeh .. but .. well .. you can get to choose who’s puppet you are and to what degree you’ll be a puppet.

M will still be glad of Fox, but she’s canny and will know Fox needs her more .. so she can be a puppet with some degree of self awareness.

at least that’s some level of control.

        :)

    • danielpool says:

GO to the store and tell them i don’t have any money see how munch control you have  :?: YOU have to pay off the puppeteer

  32. muggins says:

This is my favorite Hot4Words lesson :!: Thank you, Marina.

I loved the hula hoop when it first came out. It was a craze that lasted for over a week. But, that’s not why I love this lesson. It’s that lucky, baby blue, bathing suit Marina is wearing…and doesn’t Marina look yummie with her Hawaiian tan? I hope to always remember Marina doing the hula in her green Hawaiian dress. Timeless. It affected me like Ulla in the movie version of The Producers, played by Lee Meredith who, upon command, would dance for her boss.

I was thinking the other day about the word “hoopla”.
Is that a crazy Roaring Twenties word?

why do they use such intensely powerful blue LEDs for power indicators?

it’s like an attempt to perform laser eye surgery .. i mean .. it’s so distracting.

i might disconnect the indicator .. or put a resistor in there to diminish it somewhat.

    • Capman911 says:

I know what you mean Mijj. I have one mounted in my truck for the alarm system and you can see it blinking from quite a distance away. I guess that’s good for burglars.

    • Capman911 says:

Mijj, what would you say is the best or better video viewing software a person can get. I am using Real Player right now, but there must be a better one on the market. Real Player has a little problem with MP4 videos and as you’ve seen Quicktime is lousy. I have the most recent update for both, but Real player keeps asking for codecs to run certain videos like mp4s.

      • mijj says:

        best one is …
        [ VLC media player]
.. it can play anything thrown at it, and it’s free.

      • mijj says:

        oh .. i checked here ..
        http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html

.. it doesn’t handle the “real” format.

      • pedantickarl says:

        Hey Mike and mijj,
Even tho VLC is OK, and has gotten better, it is finicky and not that user friendly. e.g. where is my VCR controls in full screen? Not there. Can VLC play BMPs, GIFs and SWF? Nope.
It does have many other geek qualities so it is worth having if you are into geeky things like remote, etc.

It seems not many mention the top secret of players which is “mplayerc” or “Media Player Classic”.

Do NOT search for that player and install it as you won’t have all of the codecs. Get the player via the codecs download.
Keyword search: “KL download” or “K-lite download”.

This is the best and fastest and most user friendly player around for both non-geek and geek. I use it for both video and audio. Yes, it has playlists and yes it has VCR control in Full screen and yes it has full Audio and Video controls at your fingertips (look at the Windows Status bar)

Here is the link. It is legal and has been around for a long time. Download the FULL version.
        K-Lite Codec Pack

      • pedantickarl says:

Here is another link in case the other link is down or busy.
You want K-Lite Codec Pack 4.2.5 FULL install download.
        http://www.codecguide.com/

    • pedantickarl says:

See my answer to Mike and you about VLAN vs “Media Player Classic”. Tell me what you think. I think it is the best and I’ve got about 20 players or so.

    • Bob says:

That’s nothing to complain about; I’ve just bought a new control system for my flight simulator and it has 2 green LEDs, 11 Blue LEDs and a blue Multi-function display.
It looks like Union Street at chucking out time on a Saturday night.

  40. mijj says:

hmmm … seems Adobe Premiere is the competition for Apple Final Cut … so .. if i’m getting Adobe CS4 for the web and flash stuff, i should abandon Apple Final Cut.

    • mijj says:

(note: this is twitter type material thrown into this thread like a drunken vagrant begging for spare change)

    • pedantickarl says:

Hey mijj, Adobe Premiere used to be good way back when and I used it then. In the last few years, Sony Vegas Movie Studio is the best.

I can’t speak for Final Cut as I believe it only works on a Mac, but I venture a guess that Final Cut and Vegas are equals, assuming you compare the same price points.

      Recent Experience:
I helped my neighbor install Premiere on his low end performing PC. Premier choked. Vegas install did an auto-performance tweak and it rocks. Vegas is very WYSIWYG. Premiere seemed archaic.

Vegas is free download, 30 day trial, no muss, no fuss.
      Vegas matrix comparison

I recommend at minimum the Platinum version at $US 85
If you are planning to do DVDs and you want fancy DVD menus, you will want to get “DVD Architect”. You can create Hollywood professional DVD menus. If you don’t need fancy menus, don’t get “DVD Architect”
I’ve used both for the last 5 years.

      • mijj says:

my basis for Final Cut is that M uses it … that sounds like suck-up .. but really it’s my instinct for : no matter what the theories are, in the end check what’s actually being used by people you know. And i think M is a good ref for checking what works. (the biggest part of my admiration for M isn’t her boobage or leggage or wordage, it’s her brainage and straight practical engineeringage in making her site and vids be a successful means of expression – ahem .. enough with the worship)

however .. for me .. in practical terms .. i’d need to swap stuff between any video and any anim stuff i’m messing with (this is all experimental and non-professional, you understand). A key factor in this is using flash. So, i guess my simplest option is to go with the adobe solution.

.. oh yeh .. this is all aimed at generating YTube type vids. .. it’s all pure froth and self-expression. :)

Marina! Good to see some furnishings. Sorry , I spotted a mistake here. When you hula hoop you move your hips foward and backward not all around. You would think you did but its subconcious. I used to be really good at it, but for some reason only with my legs. If I tried my hips then it would fall to my knees, where it would then stay for a long time.

    Hi Marina,

really love your channel and a follow it really often. am a big fan.

I don’t know if this is too rude but I figured, most of your fan base being male, could you do a video on the word “penis”. Where does it come from? Also, why is it that in roman times all the statues were made with small penises and nowadays it’s all about bigger being better. Is there some history/reason behind it?

I wouldn’t know what to suggest for homework on this one. Well, that’s up to the teacher anyway…

Sorry I can’t do a video request but I don’t have a camera of any kind.

Hope you decide to do this word. It puzzles me a lot.

    Thanks,
    John Black

i wish people would quite saying that exspression one ———————is anothers————— something or the other it realy makes it hard to keep you people healthy

      • bsomebody says:

Should I even respond to stokes? Okay, but just this once. I thought it was short and to point. Most importantly, I felt that mijj, to whom I was speeking, would get that point. My point is that what he is doing right now does NOT look like any type of fun to me. I would be completely overwhelmed with the task, and I do not think I would get much of a reward from the (eventually) completion of the project.

However… It seems that mijj is enjoying his work. It is fun for him, and I am grateful that he shares his joy with all of us. I feel that most of us here like to witness good things in each others’ lives. Even though this task would be comparable to a litter box for me, mijj is excitedly frolicking about in his metaphoric sand box.

If the metaphors or the bastardized bother you, please simply ignore them. I will continue to offer what little support I have to my fellow HFWers. Please have a wonderful day

      • bsomebody says:

“bastardized cliches” I meant to say

She older than the moutains didnt know she even existed un till I shined my Light upon her, let every coment and astaroid and metorite in her vicinty poke it in her, let me tell you she weren’t no virgin, said she just was gathering materials so she could have childern of her own, then had the audacity of saying she needed some water, so i sent one of my children all cloaked in water too her and gave her the water and told him too stay with her which he dutyfully, then tells me she needs me to stir the water for her to everything too going. I ask her to have a child for me and she tells me she ain’t good enough for me to have childern with her and tries to sterile herself and the child i sent to look over her every twenty eight days then says every thing everyone with eyes do see and with ears to hear with that she done it all by her self with no help from anyone else. Says if i want to have any children i can go fuck my mother and i tell she too old and has had her baby maker removed by some con artists that she invented. Now if that don’t think that isn’t a good enough reason to kill her and everything shes says she invented off and start over in a new galaxy somewhere else take all my water back take my light and my child i sent to stay with her away watch and learn something new.

Huh i guess that all depends on her decision if she wants to drag your soul out of that pit you gotton yourself into and have you in the normal fashion of woman having a live birth or making unnessary toys for those whom don’t need them.

  68. pedantickarl says:

    Marina Twittered:
“…I am always running out of disk space.. just ordered my 5th 500GB!”

    Yeahhhh Marina!!!
Disk space is cheap compared to fixing or recovering bad data. Marina, remember the rule of three. Archive all of your videos and stuff to three locations. Be sure to place in fire safe and some off-site. Do you know how many people don’t back up their data? A ton and then some.

  69. stokesjrj1 says:

All that bed hopping what more is there top say

  70. masco82 says:

i made up anew game….you play it with cheese puffs…and kidna like pick up sticks ou grab a hand full and take one at a time without moving or droping the rest…if you drop one you have to put it back in the bag …if you move one other than the one you eating you have to stop eating the one you on and eat the one you moved …if not

  71. lostinhere says:

I could hula hoop twenty years ago, now…

  72. danielpool says:

That was a good one Marine 5*     I wish I’d thought of that

  73. masco82 says:

i can use a hoop in a lot of ways…but where did the word or pohrase ” gung ho” come from…im texas so it might be gun ho….get back with you later….thanks

  74. swampwiz says:

Marina, men are physically incapable of supporting a hula hoop, just like women are incapable of doing the rings in gymnastics.

    • stokesjrj1 says:

They could if allowed, just hang it on their shoulder and shake around like they was trying satisfy their significant other?

    • masco82 says:

if you place an ordinary chair against the wall and have random people walk up and place their forehead to the wall over it and pick it up and stand back up..men cant…i can pick it up to my chest but once im there im either gonna drop it or crap my pants trying to stand….thats why mops and brooms scare us men so bad…eeek scary …..instead of washing dishes a man might go and get paper plates for his next meal of cheetos and vanillla icecream….lucky me i know how to cook…melt the ice cream first then add the cheetos…set oven for 400 and 30 mins later and a bit of salt and your good to go..rigth now ive scored big…i still got all the halloween candy we didnt give away so i have extras…for a rainy night…..just got to remember not to fall asleep with the lolly pop in my mouth and always check for razors…

  75. stokesjrj1 says:

  77. mijj says:

M ordered her 5th 500GB drive? .. i hope she’s considering a big lan raid system instead of a bunch of drives.

  78. r1wolf says:

Can I hula hoop, sure! But I don’t look nearly as good as Marina doing it.

  79. nowaydude says:

:???: Hey I have a really good question. What is the difference between contentment and contentious? Why are the pragmatics of these words complete opposites but are the same word?

  80. Dezdkado says:

Idiom Request: “Thrown for a loop”… as in being confused or surprised by something unexpected. Ex: Hearing that Bill won the lottery threw me for a loop.

  81. mijj says:

ok you lot who use twitter … can you answer me a couple of questions …

.. til recently i was “following” Marina. Now … i couldn’t figure what use this was. I didn’t get emails when she made comments, so i had to depend on the “my tweets” thing here in this site. .. so .. being ignorant of hte ways of twitter, when i quit following Marina, what did i lose out on?

    • BillyB says:

After seeing you post this, I thought I’d look at what M. had to say @ twitter & caught the latest post announcement. Noticed also on twitter that Barrack Obama is a Hotforwords follower… he hasn’t posted there since the election. I think that’s where he will announce first his new initiatives, as that’s where he will be able to guage the reactions of people who can figure out how to use twitter & while they are trying to figure out what all the tweeting’s about the new laws will have already taken effect.
If you don’t know what you lost out on, doesn’t matter then does it… would only matter if you knew, y’ know what I mean?

      • mijj says:

noooooooooo… i can check twitter anytime, and i can see M’s latest by looking at “my tweets” on the right.

what i mean is .. what do i lose by not “following” M? (i.e. “following” in the sense of twitter, not in general terms).

    • BillyB says:

I still don’t get any emails from twitter, first of all I thought it was because I had the wrong email adress, fixed it, still nothing but its fine with me. I like the pics that M pops up on the twitster. Ijustine has some funny stuff in her pic section. Twitter doesn’t thrill me but I’m not lookin for a thrill, just a sence of accomplishment that I figured something out without asking my wife for help.
Cocomment I’ve had for awhile, doesn’t bother me as it does some, I don’t expect too much from it… just as long as my tea is hot & my family can track where i’ve been when I die. (research for the book)
      M. only follows a few folks as too many would probably be totally confusing, unless of course one dedicated a good portion of ones time & brain to twitterlife.

      • mijj says:

“pics that M pops up on the twitster”

? … wassat? .. is that anything to do with twitpics?

      • mijj says:

maybe it’s disappointing to M if someone quits following … like they’re not interested any more. i think media type people like M feel this kind of thing is important. … i think i should follow again to show my support.

(.. proud to be a Marina supporter ..)

    • BillyB says:

I don’t think Marina has loses sleep over you following her on twitter. She is not into guilting people into anything… that being said, I believe she is sensitive to being thought of as offensive, although she never intends to be. So many, tell her what to do, “you should… you shouldn’t…” and I know the vile comments will take a toll, even if they just make her heart a little harder. Might be the only way to survive this, for lack of a better word, “experiment” she has undertaken.

      • BillyB says:

        “…has loses sleep…”

      • mijj says:

no .. i dont mean that M would consider “me” following on twitter as important .. i just mean the general idea of having lots of followers on twitter .. and lots of followers = lots of individuals including me, even though an individual like me is insignificant.

ah .. you think then that her abandoning this site is due to harsh and/or overly personal comments? .. do you think i’m a big contributer to this?

this is a horrible tangle i think … and, of course, M, though we worship her, contributes to the tangle by not being forthright so we don’t know what’s taken in jest or taken seriously. We’re not telepathic, you know.

      • mijj says:

in other words… if i’ve been crappy to her, and she hasn’t had the decency to rebuke or correct me leading me to think she’s taking it lightly, then she’s as much to blame for this as me. More so, in fact.

This is annoying the hell out of me. The idea that M requires telepathic sensitivity .. i hope this is just your delusion and that M doesn’t share this idea.

      • mijj says:

if i’ve been crappy to M, and she’s taken it hard, and that’s contributed to M’s not bothering with this site, then i’ll happily leave.

      • bsomebody says:

Marina seems to be quite capable of speeking her own mind. I believe she would speak up if somebody crossed the line with her. Her last post in this site was an apology to one of her students for not mentioning his name as contributing a word request. It was a small gesture, but I felt it was sincere and had a personal touch. It is all too easy for some people to get carried away with the anonymoty here, on the web(similar to driving cars), but I feel this site has a fairly personal group.

    • BillyB says:

Don’t overthink… M. hasn’t abandonded anyone. She has the right to kick a little butt, if she chose to.
Wow… three things I love to watch, the sun, the surf & hoop talent.
Oh & if she shows up here, in the threads, great. If not, great too. At least they’re here to post on.

      • mijj says:

she has a right to kick but .. but she doesn’t … she should and hard when it deserves it .. but she doesn’t!

and that leaves room for endless doubt and uncertainty. If i saw her be hard on behaviour she didn’t like then i’d know if i’d crossed bounds because i know she’d bring me up on it, or let me alone. but she doesn’t … so i (or anyone else) don’t know – and so it spins out of control.

i dont think M knows how to be hard in a direct way. (and by hard, i dont mean emotional, i mean, clinically firm)

      • BillyB says:

I hear you’re own mom talking to you through your conscience. I don’t think Marina is willing to take on the mother role for a bunch of folks from around the world… but she could hire my Mom

    • BillyB says:

Oh when i said “vile comments” I wasn’t refering to you, I meant the youtube type stuff, sometimes it can be quite violent & disgusting. M says it doesn’t get to her anymore, but she musta built up an imunity or a real thick skin.

The earliest trademark was in ’58. There are other companies shown here with cancelled TMs (including potatoes!) , but I don’t know if they got the boot because of Wham-o or how that works. Wham-o finally got religion in ’06 and trademarked Hula Hoop for almost everything under the sun. You’d think they would have done that long ago.

BTW, did you notice the shell game at 00:37? “I wonder what’s under this one? I wonder what’s under that one?” :-)

  85. mijj says:

i notice M comments in the YTube threads but not here.

does that mean she’s not paying attention to this site?

i’m not sure how that makes me feel. .. i think i like this site for what it is, but M’s presence makes a difference – gives it an aura.

it’s not the same if she’s nowhere to be seen.

  86. cheapone says:

I can hula hoop and thanks for the history behind the use of the hula dance.

  87. runawayscott says:

I would once again to humbly submit my request for the word auspicious

    • gio74 says:

It comes from “auspex”, in ancient Rome the fortune teller who would look at the bird’s fly to predict favourable/unfavourable events to come. “spex” is defenitely related to “spicere” (to look at), more known in composites like “inspicere” (to look inside), the word inspector being the most common derivate. “au” in my opinion comes from “avis” (or maybe both words have a common ancestor). “avis” is Latin for bird, today used in words like “aviation”. So now it stands for “wishes” and in particular “best wishes”. Not differently fom the Italian “auguri”, also related to Roman priests/fortune teller.

  88. pandion says:

I have not tried to hula hoop in years, but with the right instructor I might be able to learn.

I have ordered the calender. I look forward to its arrival. Hopefully I ordered soon enough for the autographed version.

  90. mangaphreak says:

Okay now, seriously — what the *beep* is happening with the iTunes version?!?

It hasn’t been updated for the last four weeks now…!?

This is the most convenient way for people to watch the videos and you have just stopped supporting it or what else is the matter…?!?

I’d hate to have to say goodbye to Marina, but if she’s not on iTunes anymore, that’s it then…

Please let me know what’s going on here…! Thanks…!!

    • Dezdkado says:

I believe that she updates iTunes once a month. You may want to contact one of the TAs for more info. Click on the “Contact” tab above, and then follow the link to the TA and leave a message there… or… find a comment here by Capman911 or Captain Jack and leave a message in reply. You should hear back from that TA soon.

      • mangaphreak says:

Actually the iTunes channel used to be updated on a regular basis, whenever new videos became available…! Then it just stopped on Oct. 10th or so — and hasn’t been updated since…

Anyway, I did contact Captain Jack, here’s what came back:

Marina is working with a new provider for her iTunes content. She apologizes for the inconvenience this has caused us (I and many others). The girl is working her fingers to the bone trying to get things working again. I hope you understand. ;-)

So, yeah, I do understand that everyone is busy…but I don’t understand that they are too busy to commnunicate something like that…!? :???:

Instead of leaving iTunes users in the dark for a month now a simple news posting here on the site or a mail message to the subscribers would have been nice and also professional…

It’s just a bit disappointing that they didn’t seem to care, I guess…

    • CaptainJack says:

I wanted to respond here to inform everyone Marina is aware and working on the iTunes issue.

      mangaphreak said,

So, yeah, I do understand that everyone is busy…but I don’t understand that they are too busy to communicate something like that…!? :???:

You mention “They”. Marina manages this whole website herself. She has no staff for a site that gets 100,000 or so hits a day. She collects the word request, does the research (which takes many hours), films the video lesson (this also takes hours), edits the videos, uploads videos, reads and comments on her site, works on “backend” issues with her site, searches for upgrade to add to the site, debugs the new upgrades, working on getting calendars out, working on TV and Radios interviews, oh i could go on for days. All this takes up her a full day and then some. She does all this by herself! Now you know why she needed a vacation.

Instead of leaving iTunes users in the dark for a month now a simple news posting here on the site or a mail message to the subscribers would have been nice and also professional…

Making a posting was in the works. I just received notice about the iTunes change about a week or so ago. It was dropped low on the priority list because of other very urgent issues that had to be dealt with. The work load in the past few weeks was unbelievable. I apologize for not getting a post out on my part.
BTW, I am a volunteer at HFW. I don’t received one red cent for the work I do here. I help HFW in my spare time which has been very limited lately. I operate a full time business in training future captain’s. Because of the recession, I have been working very hard in keeping it float. I cleared my December schedule of classes so I should have more time to help out more here at HFW.

It’s just a bit disappointing that they didn’t seem to care, I guess…

The TA’s for HFW and also our teacher Marina do care very much. You just caught us at our worse. If anyone finds a issue that we might have overlooked please email me and I will answer it as soon as I can or forward it to Marina. I don’t have much time to read 500 comments a day, but I do read all my emails. Mike (HFW other TA, aka Capman911) is on the site daily and can assist in the comment section. Just reply to any of his comments and the site will generate an email that will notify him of your comment.

I hope this clears up some questions.

Dear совершенная Marina, That nice dark green dress looks like it might have come from Russia, but in Russia, they don’t make skirts that short, do they?
It would have been nice to see you whirl a Hula-hoop in that light green swimsuit of yours!
To answer your question, I don’t Hula-hoop. I never used that toy. I suspect you didn’t have many toys as a child, either. Did you have any toys?
    Your dear student, seesixcm6

thats a cute outfit you have going on there, you look great as always. Marina, you are the lovliest most gorgeous woman I have ever seen, I would do anything for you. as for the homework, no i cant hula hoop. wow that was a really severe shift subject matter on my part huh?

  104. orion_ss1 says:

Though not an expert in anatomy, I believe there is a basic difference in hip structure between men and women that makes it relatively easy for some women and close to impossible for men to use the hula hoop.

But as others have noted it is fascinating to watch.

It is also interesting to note as the hula hoop comes back into vogue every few years, and then fade ( almost ) away for a few years.

  105. Che Volay says:

  106. Capman911 says:

This is no joke friends so be aware of e-mails.

Warning: Financial crisis is a goldmine for online criminals

Criminals are taking advantage of the confusion over recent bank mergers in the United States to send out fake e-mail messages in an attempt to steal your personal information.
You’ve probably heard of phishing scams: fraudulent e-mail messages or fake Web sites designed to steal your identity. Scam artists “phish” in an attempt to persuade people to disclose sensitive information.
According to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, new bank merger scams might say something like this:
“We recently purchased ABC Bank. Due to concerns for the safety and integrity of our new online banking customers, we have issued this warning message… Please follow the link below to renew your account information.”
    Or this:
“During our acquisition of XYZ Savings & Loan, we experienced a data breach. We suspect an unauthorized transaction on your account. To ensure that your account is not compromised, please click the link below to confirm your identity.”
If you click these links, you might be taken to a fake Web site designed for the purpose of identity theft.
For more information about this scam, see Consumers Warned to Avoid Fake E-mails Tied to Bank Mergers.

    • runawayscott says:

Thanks for the PSA capman. we really gotta watch out for this stuff

    • Che Volay says:

Also Fox news did a story about a Nigerian scam on Facebook,
how they would pretend to be a friend and say they were stuck somewhere and needed money to get home.

I’ll go look for the article.

    • orion_ss1 says:

If ANY bank emails you asking for any kind of assistance, assume it is an attempt to defraud you. If they suspect problems, they know people to contact. Even responding with a ‘NO’ is a mistake; you will have confirmed an active email address.

If by chance it SEEMS to be from a bank you DO have an account with, contact the bank with a number you know is theirs ( ie NOT one from the suspect email ).

I admit I don’t understand how some of these scams work, but if you avoid them you can avoid being scammed.

      • Capman911 says:

I agree Orion. If I don’t recognize an email I delete it. Most people know who or what sends them emails, but then you have the people that will just open anything sent to them. I keep my email blocker set to strong. If I see a junk email I will look at who it’s from then delete it.

    • Che Volay says:

I Goggled Nigerian scams, it seems you-tube has an explanation to many types of scams.

    • CampKohler says:

Beware of fake warnings for fake E-mails! All of the merging banks are sending out valid inquiries and if you don’t answer them completely, you will lose all the money in your account. These fake warnings are an attempt to cheat you out of your life’s savings, so ignore them.
