Russia Today Interview

Here is an interview I did a WHILE ago… (I was at 25 million views then) but I never posted it because they said some really funny things that I never said, such as that I “cannot shop on Melrose without being harassed by the paparazzi”, nor did I say that I “am one of the hottest women on the net”!

But aLx convinced me to post it as it’s kind of funny to see… so here you go.   It was accompanied by an article as well.

AGAIN.. I REPEAT… I DID NOT SAY THE THINGS THE THINGS THEY SAID IN THE VIDEO :-)

Oh, and I tried to tell them how to upload a higher quality video, but they didn’t listen.. so the quality is really bad.

    Such Journalistic integrity!
We undertook our own investigation, (Why is a dinosaur on this roof?)
Let’s interview the opinion of the average American, What do you think Ms. Airhead and you Elmo?
Oh and look Americans are so rich they put televisions out on the lawn for the wino’s and chain broken bikes to lamp posts.
Nice opening, Comrade Marina practices her KBG exercises, just listen to the goose steps.
Can’t shop on Melrose cause of big burlely guys on hogs.
    Varroomrazzi’s

Marina, Marina what did you do to Putin’s Corn Flakes?

  • californiachelovek

The thing on the roof is at Ripley’s Believe It or Not on Hollywood Blvd.

Thanks for putting this up, Marina. It was interesting to see, even if they did put words in your mouth. Have you ever been interviewed by Russian TV в русском языке? I would LOVE to see that!!

  • chevolay

This is why I don’t believe everything I hear in the news.

    Marina………………………

“I like your balls” dirka dirk!
    [South Park movie reference]

You interviewed quite well, again!
I laughed at the shoddy journalism
    purporting that “most” people think
    Marina is from Brazil…….or,
    ….very much the beauty queen….

One bit of humor at Marina’s expense
is at 0:59 The audio sounds like she
    says “nog”-ativity a couple times
    totally raw…

Boo ya! You got that right

I love that bicycle at 3.10 :P hehe lol

  • davemarkwz

Smarter than Britney, too! I bet you become more popular!
(After all, you’re taking on karaoke  )

I hope you travel. In the many people I’d like to meet in this world,
you are gaining votes. I therefore submit mine (B.W.E. website)

That stuff about positivity I enjoyed. It’s sometimes difficult to keep
going but, I remember or research more Bushido, to which it is
included. (My cat Munch passed; giving great love to Angel&Ratt)

In returning to the interview, “Russia Today” perhaps has journalists
like that old Don Henly song “Dirty Laundry” (keeping beat, taps toes).

  • wetsuit5

They do a story on you reporting on how you have found a niche market and are successfully filling it, where do they get off then asking you who and if you are dating? :???:

How tempting was it then to say “Gimme that camera and mike we are now gonna the sights and sounds of a bowel movement, bend over”?

  • seesixcm6

I’m glad you explained how you deal with all the bad things certain people say. It only reveals their lack of character. It’s time for Russia Today to do another interview, isn’t it? :?:

  • sniperskaya

The media making up lies and distorting the truth? Now you know how the politicians f3eel, Marina.

  • http://FantasticDougsSpace 2utoday

 It was amusing to see how the media can twist a story to make it sound like anything other than the truth. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • b-meister

The video said that many of her students think she’s brazilian. Haha. Since when do hot blondes with thick russian accents come from brazil.

Thank you for clearing up those errors and despite the equivocation of the writing of that story, I thought it was a wonderful interview where we get to see another side of you. In fact, this video confirms what many of us already know of you, which is that you are a classy woman of distinction and character.

I could swear I have run into you, and that would have been before you being on You Tube. A friend of mine, an interior designer goes to the Pacific Design Center often and I hang out at the Bodhi Tree and lots of eating places.

I always wondered how tall you were. even if you didnt have toshe high heels on you are still quite tall

  • BillyB

I didn’t even realize you hadn’t posted this, it’s been in my Y/T favorites for months. The inaccuracies weren’t even an issue, I’m glad to see that russian journalism isn’t any different that anywhere else.
My sister in law, as I’ve said before, lost her job at the local newspaper for refferencing her work & getting her facts straight. They told her to stop, she didn’t & the next thing you know she was free once again, to write her novels & poetry. They said ” We hired you for your writing skills, (fiction writer) not for facts” So really if you count on the newspaper, to get the truth, you may as well read it. Enjoy the writing for the writings sake, because the journalists are trying to keep their jobs, it’s all about how the story sounds, will it sell? Make up your own facts. Video stories are good, because you don’t need sound, you looked great &… my you looked tall next to the little lady. It’ll happen again , just make sure they spell your name right

  • pig-in-a-poke

    My Dear Teacher,

I agree with your comment about retaining your accent. I love speaking with people with many different heritages and accents. Sadly, I have noticed that second generation Americans what to disassociate with their parents’ native language.

Your Russian accent is sexy, and I have noticed that the sounds are more towards the lower register. Am I correct in this? Does your native language force a deeper tone?

    Your Dear Student

  • pig-in-a-poke

    Dear Teacher,

Can you add a feature enabling one to edit one’s post. I frequently make mistakes and I hate this.

  • BillyB

    Oh look a smile…pure & simple.
Kind old guy from my old church…German, name is Carl Schultz well over 80yrs old now. One of the kindest men I’ve ever met, fought in WWII said he fired the guns as commanded but didn’t have the killing spirit, so he never aimed at another human being.
Fell off the roof a couple of years ago, helping an old lady with a roofing problem, broke his hip… up walking in less than a week, nothing stops this guy.
When I think of German people, I look at him as a representative of the real German people. He is worried about his motherland & went home a few years ago. Came back really concerned for his family left over there. Do you sense an uneasyness in europe the last few years, or do you feel things are getting better? One of my employees just got back from Holland, visiting with wife’s relatives. Other than a more family oriented culture he sensed no european uneasyness, I don’t know if that’s good.
Being a neighbour of the US, I feel our country’s future depends as much on what the US does, as what our own government does. We did’t jump into the Iraq war, but we do have troops in Afganistan, which the US doesn’t seem as concerned with. Our troops tend towards the domestic concerns of the civilians they fight for & amongst. Very good discussions on CBC Radio, on our involvement, with pro & con opinions represented very well. Made me want to throw my hands up in dispair for the suffering caused, trying to alleviate the suffering under the Taliban regime. It’s been slow going though. One of the guys that used to race at our local speedway came back in a body bag, sad, but his family is proud of him for being willing to make that sacrifice.
Sorry to go on & on, just thought I’d never see you smile, it’s nice… although I do detect a little bit of smugness in it

  • http://mentalgrammarhasbeensetup.blogspot.com aLx

a smile, well, i got bad days, too.;)

uneasyness. hm. yeah, there are a lot of things to worry about. most of them involve money (what a surprise), health care, social security and aid, etc.
right now i’m worried because of that georgia thing. germany is russia’s main trade partner. russia is germany’s oil and gas supplier number one. some one or two weeks ago, gazprom announced that the georgia conflict will not affect contracts with, and supplies to, germany.
the european union decided to reject sanctions on russia. there are still a lot of things to worry about, though. and some things are not helpful at all in trying to prevent further fighting and, therefore, casualties.

  • BillyB

Damn I shouldn’t talk about this stuff. Picked up the paper again today, Three more Candian kids dead 21-25 years old… less than half my age, It ain’t fair,
They should send us old guys to fight their old guys, dammit, we’d get tired & play checkers or something… start a tournament with the enemy… winner takes the hill, just don’t tell the politicians that were slacking off.
Here’s the guy from our city I was talking about, I didn’t know he was going to get married when he returned from his 9 month commitment, & he was a reservist , not regular army, a true volunteer, Myles Mansell .

  • matalexwolf

so right about your energy M as with your carisma. the world needs so many more people like you

  • sovereignty

Truly, the media tends to trim the original interview. Sometimes adding something to meet their needs.

  • hutchiee

Maybe they figured some other part of Marina had a Brazilian flavor

  • hutchiee

Today I took the phrase “hottest women on the net” and the #1 Google search result came back as Hot For Words.

It may not have been entirely true when the interview was taken, but G4 has since proven that Marina is “one of the hottest women on the net” as #6 position is none too shabby.

  • vernon olson

Marina, you are a rising star, I would be interested in your biograph, from beginning to today and where you plan to be in the future, or where you see yourself in your future, I think others would be interested also? In your growth you would be better served to dress more in the Sarah Palin style or business suits with an extra button open, yea sexy. People could always see your original videos so knowing what is under the conservative garb would be very intriguing. I usually do not relate to Russian people well, I think of Putin and he gives me some bad vibes, he is ruining what the Russian people almost had, freedom, liberty, democracy. I bet the Russians would elect you if they had a choice, that would be cool because then we could be friends and you would not supply all the bad dictators nuclear materials which will lead to further arms race and eventual destruction. So yea you could save the world if you were President of Russia, I would maybe even want to be Russian also, ha ha, well maybe not, just welcome visitor. Next time on O’Reilly work with him to gain political clout, here and in Russia. The Hot for Words thing is really great and you have made a brand worth millions, but your eventual duty is to use your power and influence to change the world to be a better place for all of us. The USA and Russia are on a collision course and it worries me quite frankly, I think, who could bring our countries together, ah ha, Marina Marina Marina. You are “That Good.” Thank you for this forum to bloviate.

  • greatestpotential

Marina, I hope you said “Intelligence is sexy!” Now that’s a quote worth taking credit for  I think this interview was fair and any interviewer that includes an Andy Warhol quote in their piece can’t can’t be all that bad.

  • generaldan

You know i am now just seeing this. Yeah it might be old, but still very impressive. I’m not quite sure how it took me this long to finally see one of your classes, but i’m happy about it, and not looking back.

I just hope that you are happy single, and keep teaching us.

    Please and Thank you. =D

  • hotforweirds

I would like to hear your explanation for the idiom. “feeling blue”

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/foxbow15 foxbow

go to “the mob” vid(or just the newest video,in case you won’t read it now) and post your request there, you’ll have a bigger chance of being noticed

  • hotforweirds

I would like to hear your explanation for the idiom. “feeling blue”

  • fadeintoyou77

Marina you’re wrong to call yourself one of the hottest women on the web.
Because you’re actually THE hottest woman on the web. :)

  • ismaelinho89

But what you said is right: you do have alot of charisama.
I’m not sure how much I really keep in my mind of what you say, even though that I’m pretty interrestet in the meaning of words.
(I think it’s important to know what you say and to say it right. I guess you would like the swiss dialects because there are soooo many very strange and probably very old words, so you would have a lot of labour to do.)

(Ok to continious my statement) I like to watch your movies because you apear allways very happy and that makes the vewier happy too. I like your jokes, your smile and your face if you think something is wrong or strange.

Well you are pretty smart too because your business concept is just fantastic. I mean your movies contains knowlege, entertainment and let’s say something for the eye  and your apearence very authentic too . (I had to say that as a hopefully future economist)

(sorry for syntactical faults, my native language isn’t english, but by watching your movies I should make some progress)

greetings from a small country, to a big star

  • http://www.twitter.com/suomikiss samboras4star

They used the fact that you weren’t shy against you. You had self confidence in what kind of person you are and they thought ‘hmm we could use this and make her look like an arrogant bimbo’ which you most certainly are not!

  • darlingj

They say a ‘good’ news story should always have some controversy – so if there is none they make it up. Those words they put in your mouth that you never said, and their ‘investigative reporting’ to ask if you were as big as Britney was just silly.

The old saying ‘Any publicity is good publicity’ is true. Anyone reading or seeing the piece would check you out because you are interesting – maybe moreso if they had the idea you were always being chased by paparazzi and thought you were one of the hottest women on the net…just because you hadn’t been voted that yet doesn’t make it any less true…
