Bill has gotten full of himslef lately, but I’ll watch anything that my trusty HotForWords teacher is on!

I disagree completely. She seemed confident, and in good humor. She did not take herself too seriously, but showed herself to be knowledgeable and good at what she does. She’s not a stuffy English professor.

I think you did well and you appeared quite comfortable and confident. The problem was that Bill incessantly interrupted you, hurried you and tried to control the conversation. You didn’t have a chance to show your true personality. Although it was still worth watching, it was my least favorite of your TV/radio appearances.

Yeah, I am not a huge fan of O’Reilly myself, but I do sometimes agree with him. Same as most every other political news person. I think my overall agree/disagree ration with O’Reilly is about 50/50 probably. I’m the same way with politicians, like for example, I have no frickin’ clue who I’m voting for this year for Pres. of USA. I mean, I don’t trust Obama… Hillary has some good ideas, but she also has some bad ones that make me think…. maybe she’s not the best choice. McCain has some great ideas, but there’s other things he is for/against that I don’t agree with…

As for Marina’s appearance on his show, I think he was good to her! I mean, he understood that Marina isn’t a bimbo as some people have said in comments on her YouTube video, and her making these sexy videos isn’t bad, because she’s using her sexiness to teach us, most of us might tune in to see her, but we DO still learn!

You were absolutely GORGEOUS. :wink: You unarmed o’reilly with your femininity (hope that’s the correct word) and smile so that didn’t leave a chance for him to go tough on you. Way to go! :cool:

Dislike is an understatement… more like they see a right wing conspiracy under every rock, and are out for Republican blood 24/7. Ask your buddy Bill O’Reilly all about them. A flamewar will most likely occur between DailyKos.com and HotForWords.com, as such is the nature of the blogosphere, especially when you have the misfortune of having what’s known as an ‘ubertroll’ in the mix. And that is exactly what you have in the mix, unfortunately for you. Fortunately for you, though, I will not be personally trolling this farcical site of yours, as all I need to do is share my experience here over at DailyKos.com a little next week, and the Kossacks will come here and do the rest, as there is no way Markos and his admins are going to let a popular youtube phenom be used to promote the McCain For President campaign. Hey Marina, I thought you did a excellent presentation. I never commented till now though. I though O’Reilly was rude to you. He kept interrupting while you were answering and reading the answers from a script in a concise formal format trying to make you appear a “dumb blond” . His interruptions are a ploy too draw the viewers attention onto himself, to keep the focus on the fact it’s his show. He in fact wasn’t nice to you (remember your video “nice is not so nice”) he was condescending. A passive\aggressive form of insult. You were fascinating as always. I wouldn’t like to see you treated in that fashion again so i honestly wouldn’t recommend appearing on his show again.

I am new to your site. I have to say that it is definitely different. I
suppose stranger things have happened. You seemed to have
taken diametrically opposite concepts and created a successful
website from them. Funny thing, I watched your YouTube videos
at first because of your unmistakable beauty. However, I am a bit of
a geek and I enjoy learning new things, usually math or science
related. Occasionaly, though, I like to know how certain words came
into existence. It is the reason I bought a word origins dictionary.
Anyway, thank you for making language lessons so interesting.
It does help that you are very intoxicating.

I must say I have enjoyed visiting your website so far. Many interesting things to check out. I wouldn’t call myself a geek, persay. I deal with Environmental Science and collect fish. But I will share a funny word associated with my field…Icthyology.

Colbert’s re-invention of “Truthiness” is similar to O’Reilly’s of “Pinhead”. Both unknowingly re-invented a word used previously. However do the re-inventions differ in that O’Reilly re-created Pinhead with the original meaning but Colbert re-created with his own meaning or version of it? Was Truthiness (re) born with Colbert its father or is it just another derivative of Truth or Truthy? That’s a question for HotForWords.

Hi Marina – did you know that “blooter” has two other meanings in Scotland? It means to kick something or hit something very hard – as in a footballer “blootering” the ball to the other end of the pitch.
