Another great 5 star show!!! Once every two weeks is just not enough… I think you should be on every Friday, or why not everyday. Anyway, I look forward to listening to you on many more radio (and hopefully TV too) shows.

duh! I posted an outfit request. :/

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/trgoblin trgoblin

    Very entertaining…

I really like the idea of outfit requests. You could make a game out of it or let us vote – just take some photos of your potential outfits, create a category called “Dress Marina”, “Marina’s Closet” or something like that and install a voting plugin.

With any luck it will really catch on and designers will send you clothing – you can join their affiliate program and we can click the links to buy them for our wives and girlfriends.

I can’t believe Strech couldn’t say the “C” word. Well neither can I, here. I had a rather strict upbringing, and for that I am grateful. We did live in a Military neighbourhood & I chose to work in the auto repair industry, so I did learn the use of, as a Pastor friend of mine explained, those words that are reserved for special situations or occasions, thaT COME UP FROM (dARN caps lock) time to time. My very wise parents taught me discretionl but I still find myself resorting to the words that to quickly come to mind at the most inopportune times. I struggle so.
Oh I am grateful to my teachers & also to Marina ,my 2nd hottest teacher ever, Grade five was also a 10+hot, I’m afraid that in another 40 years tho my memory will be gone along with Al’s hiemer. Oh no it ‘s started, the rambling.
Anyways to use a metaphor that goes with my trade, teachers & training equip us, as a good mechanic would have, with tools of life, to express ourselves & explore & hopefully to contribute to the development of others, as parenting & mentoring is teaching me still.
Words are wonderful tools, kept in the wonderful toolbox that is our brain. As a master mechanic meticulously collects & orders his tools, to be able to bring them out & use them to express his skill & make something beautiful or even to make it purrr… so I am envious , but appreciative of a fine wordsmith who can bring to my little pea brain , pictures & smells & yes even tastes that can be enjoyed & ruminated upon.
Thank you Marina AKA “Hot for words” for renewing my interest in the origins of words, even the more salacious words that I try to keep locked & out of the sight of the children although I realize with a little bit of blushing that an elementary school playground now sounds like a military camp used to. (my wife teaches @ a primary school)
    As an aside but relating, this was emailed to me today;

General Cosgrove of the Australian army was interviewed on the radio the other day and you’ll love his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children.

This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of ABC interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military headquarters.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL COSGROVE: We’re going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That’s a bit irresponsible, isn’t it?

GENERAL COSGROVE: I don’t see why, they’ll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don’t you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL COSGROVE: I don’t see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you’re equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL COSGROVE: Well, Ma’am, you’re equipped to be a prostitute, but you’re not one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

What a great comeback! Of course if he was from the United States he’d be resigning today.. which is a shame.

  • buzzword

Great news Marina. Is this all happening according to a strategic plan you have or are you just winging it?

  • pupilo no. 1

    Marina,

I love your radio show, but very respectfully I do not care much for that dude Stretch. At least he is kind enough to speak highly of you, because you truly deserve that.

Felicidades por continuar con tanto exito ahora en la radio.

    Besos,

    Tu alumno No. 1

Just winging it buzzword  Though in the back of my mind I did picture some of this happening… I just didn’t know in what order. I am working on a book right now as well. Though I might turn to you all for input on what kind of book I should do.

  • http://www.kunstscheiss.de alx

if you’d let people on here an on youtube vote … then I know what kind of book it’s gonna be. *rolleyes*

    ;P

  • http://hotforwords.com Marina

Well.. the publisher wants me to do a 350 word book or so.. but I was thinking less words (50 or so??).. fun stories.. including pictures.. and that way I can do a series of books. I feel that people don’t really read much these days.. so I thought it better to dole it out in a series of fun, easy to read, quick books – with lots of pictures

    Who knows…

  • jsmooth5atl

Very interesting show. I might get Sirius radio just to hear my fav teacher. I think the pick a outfit game is a very cool idea.

  • begemotochka

Ugh. Please don’t debase yourself by doing this show…

  • leonard

Do a monthly thing. Keep tabs on all new words and exploit the geek phenomena. You have so many artistic qualities. A book of series in why you succeed; and that is how you pan the world together via communication/you are just soul smart:-)…Philosophy is history: past, future and present………who, what and why is where it be at
