    I would too!

    Hi Marina!
It was very nice to see you on this interview Happy Hour :) Very nice! You look great.. Thank You very much!

  • http://therist.hi5.com therist

Marina intelligence is really sexy

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=MH6M Ravage

No offence but the shot it self is lame. Still good for You Marina.

  • wildfishwish

    you were great Marina!

  • lithuaniamania

Exposure for you is nice, Marina, but this forum appeared to not take you or what you do very seriously at all. I really feel Rebecca was intimidated by you and jealous to boot. She is, herself, very beautiful but didn’t need to make snide comments about why we all view your videos. Next time try Lou Dobb’s show. He would give you respect in every field that you work in.

  • cosmopolitan1

    Congratulation Marina!
You showed smarts, charme and wit. What a great interview and promotion! And the show was a fantastic fit for you cause it’s the same style mix of info and fun entertainment that you provide on your sites: so a perfect match! More of that,
    please!

  • http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=veritanuda veritanuda

Hehe.. yes.. well what can I say.. YOU _looked_ very smart _talked_ very smart and were so way over the head of these bar-props you might as well have had wings! (thus giving rise to the encouraging rumour that you are, in fact an angel in disguise)

Glad you are making it to prime time telly (albeit Fox ;) ) but hurry up and come to the UK so we can put you on QI, Balderdash and Piffle or Never Mind the Full Stops. Please, pretty please.

Довольно пожалуйста с грецким орехом хлестают сливки на вершине!

GOOD JOB MARINA :!: I loved it…You are right about youtube is the best…I cant wait till your next video..Thanks

  • http://hotforwords.com Marina

Thanks! Except that Fox owns myspace! Whoops

  • tdwnarrows

    OOOhhh i didnt know that…Oh well..LOL

  • http://ocelotl-larutanatural.blogspot.com ocelotl

wow!!! you look so… gorgeous with that dress… a very special teacher. Good job! sigue as

  • http://hotforwords.com Marina

I actually had just set up a myspace page.. I was just playing with them.

  • http://stannex.com stannex

Congratulations on getting national coverage. I won’t be so crass as to insult Fox Business after they were so kind as to invite you on, but I DO hope this leads to higher-profile shows and networks giving you even BETTER promotion.

  • matalexwolf

The other three talked waaaaay too much!! x

  • theoddgeteven

I agree very much with the comments logged by lituaniamania above. It was good for you to get this exposure and I hope it bares fruit for you if that is what you want. Rebbeca, made some side long looks and made her comments out of ignorance about your program and centred herself in a “good ol boy” american stero type mind set. “You are beautiful therefore you have no brains.”

Don’t you love it when people talk about themselves thinking they are putting someone else down. If she was exercising some of her gray matter she should have recognized herself in making that comment, but opps she is there for her beauty and not brains.

  • dank1313

i feel like they were way too “happy”, you were yourself and goofy. even though you looked a little out of place and picked on.

  • rusak24

When you become famous and rich, don’t forget us will you

  • ken

    Marina! Woohoo!

  • free soul

“bares fruit” by oddgeteven seems like a Freudian slip !

But re the Fox prog. I now see why I’ve heard that UK TV is better than stateside. How did those apparently crass loonies lure you onto that Circus ?
At least you were the Ballerina on the horse, and not the clowns.

  • akak

veritanuda said “hurry up and come to the UK”. Yes, yes, Im sure you would find your spiritual (and linguistic) home here.

Just imagine a show (IQ) with you and Stephen Fry on the same bill. Fans of philology would not know what to do with themselves (ourselves).

  • jsmooth5atl

So cool for you to be on TV. You should have gave us a heads up so we can watch it live. I think you were great in your interview. I think that lady was rude because you try to interrupt you but you kept your composure.

  • theoddgeteven

er yah opps…what can I say. :???: Bear with me ? Thanks for the correction. Sorry Marina

  • http://hotforwords.com Marina

I didn’t give a heads up as it was my first time interviewed EVER… so I was really nervous that I would do a horrible job!

  • bklabel

You did a great job on the interview. Please let your students know in advance next time.

  • StylinAzn

Great Job… yes your students would love to know your next television spot. We would all watch with deligence!! I know I would… :!:

  • dank1313

    good job marina

  • TommySteeltoe

I’m glad to see the progression of your popularity. Might I suggest you go on the daily show? Or perhaps Cnn, but Fox is just “farcical” compared to you.

See if you can tell me what that means. Perhaps in a vid?
    plz = )

  • abxgarcia

Marina, I think that you deserve at least an exclusive interview on any respectable TV Show, and you certainly deserve better than the “happy hour”; on the other hand, it is awesome to see you getting recognition outside Youtube! :-D

    We Love Your Work!!!

  • voister

    Marina,

Wow! You were incredible in your interview. Although, the hosts were ignorant and obnoxious stupid people. Never mind them and their simple ways of “thinking”. You have caught our attention as your students and we are never late to class, anymore. Keep it up.

    Semper Gumpy,
    Voister

  • oogie

    Hey you did great !

Keep up the good work, i’m sure we’ll see you on tv again sometime :P

  • mauidavid

Marina you were great! You looked much more intelligent as well as easy on the eyes than the rest of those bozos! Congratulations on your first interview. I’m sure it won’t be long before you are getting offers for your own show. Excellent job, and Bon courage!

  • streetscribe

Marina, how simply elegant you are in this interview. Well Poised despite the comments made by the lady in the blue dress. A rather loud and boisterous group they put u with (were they tossed or what?) , indeed u handled your self nicely.

  • buhbuhray13

I enjoyed the interview and thanks for preparing yourself so well for it ! I have done some interviews on camera and given speeches in front of people and it’s a whole different ball game than just sitting all alone talking to a web cam.
    kudos !

  • Vichama

Congrats on your first interview Marina! I just wish they wouldnt have kept interupting you.

  • http://www.myspace.com/loneshark2000 loneshark

unreal !! you did so well at staying polite amongst some bruts ! very well done.
    post script-
will you be my valentine ?

  • fadeintoyou77

    Great job, Marina.
You were just your disarming self as usual while the other three talked across each other.
A breath of fresh air as always.

  • mikei14975

Don;t lesten to what they say about, ” They don’t care what you say”, we do.. right guys?

  • cuteronnie120

You were the only I heard, everyone else was so loud! :???:

  • keekaykorapsa

First interviews are really the most nerve racking, specially in live broadcast. I noticed though that Rebecca felt intimidated by your presence which became evident by your comment about Golden Globe thingy, youtube being the best than myspace (which you later knew is Fox owned) and culminating when you answered all the etymological meaning of the questions thrown at you. Dunno, they (Fox) could have sent you and the hosts the questions beforehand so you and they had time to research. But for Rebecca, I guess what she researched on was your personality through your youtube videos rather than your philological background. Then those rude, uncouth, stingy comments about you. She talked before thinking, epitomed the typical American womens’ cynicism and superiority above- all- else rather than having an open “mind” mentality. In the end, she did looked more unintelligent and obnoxious person.

Great job for you though  Keeping your calm, do shared some of your insights, your knowledge and grace. Please do continue with your videos and feed our mind. Kudos to you.

Yeah…. They seemed really sober now didn’t they? (Marina I bet you didn’t have a drink at all)

  • salem smith

 it is indeed sad no one knew what a philologist is.
    love ya marina!

  • http://www.eddis.c.la hamid_chemini

i am hamid from algéria ; i never …… I want a friendly, were not friendly to me begin, the most beautiful women Search me on the beautiful girlfriend

  • rocksavs

You did great Marina. For an American you’re an excellent philologist. For a Russian (originally) you are an AMAZING English philologist. Very Impressive!

  • patrickviel6

I think that it’s so unfair for Marina! They keep cutting her off and seemingly putting her down! Don’t worry about it Marina, I like you for your brains and DO pay attention to your lessons!

  • http://www.myspace.com/erykc chulva

They so showed thier jealousy! Talk about haters! The exposure was totally awsome, but they could have showed a lot more respect.

  • http://myspace.com/intuitive_alphamale excited4etymology

    Privyet!

My name is Daryn. 1st time user of your website. I’ve seen you on youtube since you 1st joked about women’s vocabulary of “fine”. I’ve also seen this interview when it first aired. I must say you are a marvel. As far as the interview, you have a better understanding of American culture than that woman in silk, since you were nice enough to not try to talk over others. You were also well prepared too with your rebuttle of being an attractive teacher. I’m glad you weren’t in skimpy clothing for this interview, you came off as very poised and professional, and I respect that. To top it off, you seemed to have a knack for prognosis, since this link happened (see below).
Overall, I say well done. I hope you have more luck in the future.

Foxnews cable channel can get kinda silly sometimes. Great job
    gurl!,.. (YUPchannel) Livewire- :P

  • donfelipegonzales

    Dear teacher,
As usual, great performance. Very funny. I liked the origin of “the happy hours”. I’ll have something interesting to say next time I go to a pub!
    Thank you for the lesson.
    Amicalement

Extraordinary performance, tough crowd for you to play to as you began. I loved the interview, I look forward to meeting you one day as I’m doing my thing! One may imagine learning learning something new in a whole new world of possibility!

I like the words “Extraordinary Chautaucqua!”

  • caktonias

Your two hosts were more interested in talking than listening which makes for a poor interview, however you were able to take the stage rather well.. Poor Red Eye didn’t get a chance to shine though.

  • leonard

    I love happy hour…really

  • darlingj

A decent first appearance. The guys seemed into doing there own jibber-jabber and drawing attention to themselves. The girl seemed to be the one who was instructed by the producers to ask the questions. I didn’t take her comments as demeaning – I expect what they were told was that you were the ‘sexy philologist’…

This step took you to a next step…
