Existentialism is a branch of philosophy. It deals with the concept of existence beyond the mind. Philosophers to study the works of in this discipline include, but are not limited to, Hegel, Sartre and probably most famously Nietzsche. This philosophical movement was contemporary to continental philosophy, so that might be a good area to examine also as a different view.
